Jeez, either Jon took some steroid shots before that one or he really was into it - he sounded even better than in Munich 2011, which I think was way beyond everything from 2013 :-o Or has that one been tampered with (auto tune, etc.) like the other (official) one?

EDIT: after watching a bit more of it, I think he really went for it, like on some songs at the last show in 2013. He should do that more often, although he probably would ruin his vocals (even more) in the process :-(

Jon definately geared up for that Hyde Park gig in 2011! I remember listening to the radio broadcast the night after the show and being totally stunned!
It was among his best efforts in 2011. I wouldn't take Munich as a comparison since I think he wasn't really up to his game there. He tried hard, but never found his way into the show (at least for me). In Dresden and Mannheim he was on a much higher level.
Still, I agree with you that all those shows piss over what we heard in 2013 (maye bar Cologne and Milan).

Don't know if it's been done before but someone has put the pro audio from the Hyde Park 2011 show along with audience footage. It's pretty shaky and zoomed in but hey ho it is what it is.

Yeah, Dresden 2011 was very cool too! I don't know, for me he did get into it in Munich (since he seems to really love this town :-D), and it was among the best concerts I've seen from them, but Hyde Park still was so much better :-o

Ended up watching the full show from that link today. Really is a brilliant performance. I enjoyed the Manchester gig the night before but that was 10x better and it was almost like it was 2 different bands. Jon was just quality all night, as were the whole band. If only the band were like this every night!!

Still think HP 2011 is pretty much the perfect modern day Bon Jovi show and setlist, swap Runaway in for Hallelujah and it's all good.

The encore was great though, I was convinced many times whilst there that it was over and they just kept going. This concert being so good led to me being so disappointed with the 2013 gig there, utterly paled in comparison.

I'd say swap Hallelujah for Bed Of Roses; and then have Runaway earlier in the set in place of Lost Highway. But yeah, that's as good of a show as the band could deliver these days. I don't hope for Jon to be back to his 80s or 90s self. But for him to decline so far from 2010-11 is unacceptable.

I just watched some footage of Hyde Park 2013 for comparison and must say that the decline there isn't that big compared to 2011. I think it just got worse during the second half of the tour, for whatever reason. The energy/dynamics inside of the band is just different without Richie...

I was moreso comparing tour vs. tour overall (using HP 2011 as a benchmark), rather than comparing HP 2011 vs. HP 2013 shows.

But speaking of HP 2013, it was one of their biggest shows of the tour (along with Slane, Milan, Cologne and the NJ shows), so Jon did sort of 'peaked' by that tour's standards and sounded somewhat decent, and it was still a tad worse than the previous tour. But it energy-wise and setlist-wise (in terms of variation) it wasn't even close to what was considered the 'norm' for 2010-11.
