Yes he certainly was - and this is not ancient history either. Only 6 years ago.

Wow. You sometimes forget just how special a band they were post 2000 too.

There's a truly wonderful moment during I'll Be There For You when Jon sing the line "I wasn't there when you were down" and Richie looks at him and smiles because he nails the vocal. Almost like it caught Richie off guard.

For the life of me I can't recall the show or tour but would hazard a guess it was somewhere between HAND & The Circle era. Very vague I know!

I remember seeing that moment. I'm sure it was The Circle tour in 2010. Really 2010 and 2011 were the last super good vocals.

It was in Charlotte 2010 ;)
