AS you can hardly hear Jons voice it is stupid to say he sounds nasal! Seem to be good live guitarwise!

And that's why Jon dosen't like playing rarities. It must be horrible playing to an audience who are just sat there looking back at you especially when it's such an energetic song. I could understand it if they were playng MAM for christ sake!

Sounds VERY good

Even if all the American folks here deny it: BJ and especially Jon play the US only because of the good money. The fun part is the European / other territories where fans do not fall asleep during the show.
The Pit inside the Circle is half empty or am I wrong ???

Thanks for sharing :) Finally some official videos with great quality. Bullet sounds great live, especially for the first performance. Tempo is there and passion is there. Those maracas add a lot to this live version. But please don’t change it with KTF! Play them both each night :)

Personally...I HATE the PRO SHOT footage of Bullet. The fan-video for me is a lot better, gets the energy through a lot more than just the soundboard. Sounded 100% better thru the fan camera rather than that pro-shot IMO.

Wow! You know..I gotta first say that my initial impression was that Jon was only doing it reluctantly. I wouldn't blame him if he just couldn't feel the product of what he probably regards as being the equal of those poems we'd write in Junior High off a steady diet of the 80's hair bands of the time.

Then there is the fact that when I have fairly set prejudice in loving the live arrangement as done in 1985 with Tico pounding in leading up the 2nd part of the first verse along with the full stop after "when to stop!" Yet again, I have yet to hear a live version of the studio arrangement. So I avoided being underwhelmed. I also couldn't help but notice Jon did well with finding some connection with the song, allowing himself to feel it. By the 2nd verse and onward he seemed to be catching stride.

I am convinced the run at O2 is going to be legendary. I ignore the audience here as much as I can since I regard these early performances as mere warm ups for a far more receptive and rabid audience overseas. I am not setting expectations for Giants... the U.S. is just a different game.

I enjoyed the bullet performance.

Only Lonely; not so much. Jon sounds extremely whingy. Still credit to them for playing it.

About Bullet, I feel a lack of energy compared to the studio version, Jon sounds a bit breathless. And the maracas? I don't think it's really appropriate here. But for a first try, it's decent.

Maybe it's because I've de-sensitized myself a bit to the difference in how he sings it by listening to the soundcheck from a couple of weeks back a fair number of times. As with the rest of the details I mentioned not being present in this arrangement, I just set aside my expectations. It is a different band now, just like the rest of us are different people 25 years later. With that in mind I thought they did the song justice, far more than I would have expected after years of wondering how these songs would sound live done today. I give them more than just credit for playing it.

I think she was complaining about the poor sound mix on the Pro video. And I think she's right, the cellphone recording "captured" the performance better with regards to the energy itself.
