Does anyone with the bootleg know if this is legit?

I think it's brilliant. Very unique version of the song, doesn't sound like Jovi's acoustic version at all. A lot of soul in it. Does anyone know how old this is? Couldn't find a date.

Here's the preproduction demo of BTBMB:

Nothing special, except the harmonica at the end. Never knew they were planning to put that in the studio version. Definitely should've kept it :)

Anyone have any videos of D.Child talking about Bon Jovi?

Panda 02-14-2012 08:00 PM

Holy crap, this was pretty cool!

Eddie Van Halen and Richie soloing together with John Mellencamp on vocals playing Gloria.

and in my opinion, Richies solo was much better than Eddies.

Did you take a good look at the rest of the band on that? It's one of the most incredible collection of musicians you'll ever find, and they did some terrific covers. I'm a big fan of this one -

Get Back -
Other good ones are -

Bitch with Sheryl Crow on vocals -
Stay With Me with Melissa Ethridge on vocals -

Panda 02-15-2012 08:22 AM

Is that Bryan Adams there too? and Melissa Etheridge? :shocked!:

Wut.

powernoize 02-15-2012 08:27 AM

never noticed, this version of i shall be released from the 1994 great music experience appears to be different....in the one i'd seen michael hutchence shares a mic with jon and richie, but he doesn't in this one.

Yep. And Don Henley and Steve Winwood and Max Weinberg and on and on. It was a benefit for City of Hope.

Cool find. That led to me to this I Believe in Milan 1993. I Believe has been getting some love around here recently (showing up on some Top 5 lists, reminiscing about Lisbon). I love the '93 performances of I Believe. Great opener. Great song.

Awesome performance of Undivided. I hadn't seen this before. I always thought the Times Square (9/11 tribute) version was the best.

Captain_jovi 02-18-2012 08:08 PM

Hell of a performance, before they turned it into a god damn ballad.

Prayer Hannover 03-12-1986

From what I hear, Jon sings everything. It's a real wonder he blew his voice during this tour [/sarcasm]

samboraisgodUK 02-19-2012 03:25 PM

Richie & two other guitarists (i did see their names somewhere before but not on this video) doing an acoustic Prayer at a charity Guitar Master Class in LA yesterday. Richie mentions the guitar lessons he's been taking and seems to play with a more varied style than he has done recently (i know he was in for some criticism on here for repeatedly playing the same licks). Very interesting version of the song, must watch.

This was cool...I like him saying he had taken his first guitar lesson at the ripe ol' age of 52, lol!!

Wanted from the same event

Spectacular stuff !!!

My jaw is on the floor. This was really refreshing and it looked, felt and sounded like 2000 Richie. Love it.

Jovimimi 02-19-2012 05:43 PM

LOAP and Wanted are such fabulous great treats ...Those so freaking ready to burn Richie into the flames of he!! a few months ago - wanting to trade him for Phil X - are now happy to see him like that (it's all over FB) . Talking about flip flopping...
Richie seems so relieved from some imaginary weight on his shoulders and happy .It's like on his own he is breathing again ... I am confident that the guy that will be back with the band when the band hits the road again will be like regenerated ....
I agree with you Deb, I love the part about guitar lessons at 52....I love how comfortable - very Richie style though - and humble he is about talking about taking guitar lessons and all that ... He was not that bad for a self made guitarist without any guitar lessons so far, but now he is shining. At least to me

I don't know who filmed that but I hope the person who was there enjoyed the event !

Holy shitballs Batman, that was totally awesome, a brilliant version! The other two guys were great too with their rhythm section.
Compare this acoustic version to, for example, the mtv unplugged one from a few years back. Its another man - Richie's back!

Same thoughts here. Being on his own, doing his stuff he's wanted for years, makes him shine and rise. He enjoys himself and feels comfortable (to me at least). Way to go Richie - it's about time the world sees !!!

Video credits go to Sigrid Kämpfer. She was there and enjoyed :-)

That was fantastic. I want Richie's album now! :multi:

Just had to post this as I'm still so hyped after their brilliant show yesterday!
And this song rocked the shit out of the place! Already loved it from BJ in Mannheim, but in the original key it's such a mother****er of a rocker!!!

Radio Saved My Life Tonight:

Have to add that it sounded even better yesterday as the song is better rehearsed now - this video is from the night it premiered.

Jon needs to play ELECTRIC guitar on this song. And they need to play this arrangement, not the chopped up, slowed down version they actually do play. It's NOT the same song. The riff isn't even close to the same.

Why, oh why did this leave the setlists? One of their best live songs! This Crush Tour performance is just awesome, too.

Does anybody have any idea what song Jon is singing here on the SWW tour?

I guess this is an unsolved mystery in the collectors world for 25 years now...

i've always assumed this was an improv intro to Never Say Goodbye....i remember googling some of the lyrics a while back in hopes to find it was a cover song but nothing came up in the search results.
