They were amazing :) Love it. You can see even Estonian flag, in 89 it wasn´t allowed :)

That is one sexy axe. It's so shiny too. Congratz!
Great tone and playing as well. Love your pinch harmonics.

I could :2gunfire: Jon for not playing it more often:

Just stumbled across this - Novocaine from late 2005:
Great showmanship from Jon! Was this already around the time Richie's marriage started to crack? If so, this may have been the reason for such a good performance.

These Days - South Africa 1995

That part from 3:24 onwarrds is amazing. Probably my favorite These Days ever (together with Tampa '95 and maybe Yokohama '96)

That was really a magical These Days! I adore when he raised the vocals on the "rather die than fade away" part! Speaking of this part, a performance that blows (in my opinion) Yokohama out of the water (and was mentioned a few times before) was the last show of the tour:

Wow, i've just watched this video 3 times in a row. And I mean, that was before seeing it posted here. I would have killed to see Bon Jovi live in the 90's. So f**king good!!

I just came across this version of Bed of Roses from some Australian tv show. Not sure how I've missed this but I absolutely love Jon's voice on it. This is the guy that made them my favorite band. Perfect blend of gravel, smooth, and power.

Though Lisbon surely had the most energetic I Believe performance in recent years, I share the opinion that vocally London 2008 was definately better:

Yes it was! I know that many people will disagree with me but Jon sounded very old and not really relaxed during I Believe in Lisbon, It took away the fun for me.

It's the mix that Obie or Matt butchered that made it sound bad. If you listen to fan videos taken by personal recorders, he sounds much better.

I can't really hear that much of a difference. But the mix is still worse. I think the best mix was the concert at Hard Rock Calling (not sure if Obie had anything to do with it ;-)). But I think that Jon's voice is always a bit worn-out at the end of a tour. The shows I've seen in London the year before last year were better vocally. The one thing that Jon wont be able to change are his highs and there are quite a lot in jovi songs.

Barcelona and Lisbon had the best vocals from Jon on the tour. From bootlegs, it looked and sounded like London sucked in 2008 and that I Believe was the only highlight of the two nights. Obie had nothing to do with HRC, which was a huge blessing as we got our first proper soundboard recording of Bon Jovi in years.

Probably true :-). London 2008 was pretty bad; I enjoyed a few songs like Always, Blood Money and I Believe but that was about it (I went to the second night). But I was referring to the o2 gigs in 2010 and I went to the first two concerts and the last one. Letting You Go, Keep The Faith from the second night and These Days from the last night were pretty good. Vocally, I thought the second o2 show was better than Barcelona (the atmosphere and the set list made up for it.)
From what I've heard (from youtube and from talking to Simon), Vienna seemed awesome even slightly better than Mannheim (which was also quite strong).

jovi 94 04-04-2012 10:48 AM

Was nearly shocked to see full shows like this on youtube - many of which i have not seen. there are others like south africa 1995 which we all know well.

but can anyone steer me, on youtube, to any other essential full shows that are on here?

here are some of the ones i spotted last night

jovi 94 04-04-2012 09:13 PM

these days on this one aint too bad - nowhere near the best we have heard, but a decent listen

jovi 94 04-08-2012 03:59 PM

Just a reminder in case anyone needs one.

Such an amazing performance. Arguably one of Jon's very finest moments

pity we do not have this in better quality

bonjovi90 04-11-2012 12:35 AM

Perfect lyrics, perfect song, perfect performance - for me at least:

JBJ - It's Just Me (Paris '97):

He captures a mood I can't really describe with that song, but I adore it!

You really tend to forget how great they were doing that song when they played it night after night:
I love the energy how Jon picks it up on the circle again!

To Jon's defense, this is partially fans' fault, because judging from YouTube videos it didn't go over well at all. So if you're Jon and you play a song people don't know, you'd rather play a new song instead of an oldie that's not even a hit. And secondly, I'm pretty sure we were all upset when songs like KTF, HAND, DC and ITA were not played early in the tour?

The secret is to have a 1st gen copy of the concert and just upload the video from that version :D
About the other 2: the first Fear was in Frankfurt, not in France, and I have tried about everything with it to make it look better - running a sharper b/w VHS transfer underneath to increase clarity, all that stuff - nothing really worked.

The 2nd one is my video :D

I just checked mine (I also have a 1st gen). Since there is no audio recording of that concert I may rip it from the DVD and see how it sounds and looks. As I said yesterday - I had forgotten how good that sounded. In these Arms used to be one of my favorite songs. Now it is downtuned and it just doesn't have the punch it used to.

It looks gorgeous but the sound is quite metallic. I tried to get around that by pushing some of the lower frequencies, but maybe you will have more success with that. If so, let me know ;)

Arguably the best Wild in the Streets performance - the hunger and the energy of the band is out of this world:
