Wild In The Streets opening the show in Nuernberg 1993!
Amazing opener, Richie joins into Tico's drum spin at the start and both Jon's vocals as well as the overall energy are sky high! Near the end Jon halts the song to tease the audience by asking them if they're really ready, just to kick into a freakin' nice reprise of the song afterwards!

Never saw this before.

Given the state of Jon's voice at the time, it was a really a chicken move of him to downtune this song for the tour given how capable he was of nailing it in original key as seen by this and other early 1992 performances (remember, he was still able to do this)

Just brilliant and it's not even a song I am especially fond of! :D
I want *that* band back

Bed of Roses / Cama de Rosas (Buenos Aires '93):

Full audio recording of the performance since the TV broadcast cut on most of it. I absolutely love them doing the chorus in Spanish and I think this might've been the first time it was done that way!

And we got to hear this in Barcelona in 2011. I certainly didn't expect to hear it this way and it went over really well with the crowd.

I will never forget Carli's reaction to it (I think she was one of the people who really wanted to hear it this way)

I'm fortunate enough to have seen the band on every tour since Slippery, including what I consider their peak on the 1995 These Days tour. But not seeing them in Europe in 2011, and thus probably never seeing a European show while the band was still really really good, may end up being my biggest band-related regret.

Carli's reaction? You should have seen Bob's, Sheri's, Fluffy's, and Ginger's.

I hear you. I had already regretted missing the 2008 European tour. So when Seb started talking about a 2011 trip I decided that it was "now or never". I cannot say how happy I am to have gone on that trip and to have seen the 7 shows that I saw. I have to say that nothing I have seen since has even come close.

6 out of 7 :D The first one was just special 'cause we met the first time :D
But I hear you, even though I "only" travelled to the 4 German shows in 2011, I wouldn't have wanted to miss out on this experience. Was the last great summer to be a fan I guess...

True - Dusseldorf was not particularly good. But it was my first European concert and yes, we got to meet so I don't remember it being horrible. I just remember the others being so much better LOL.

And I thought the Academy Awards Performance would be the best it could get when it comes to live vocals on this song - but this is way better!

His vocal prime imo...

Why didn't Phil play the solo?

Jon singing Blood On The Bricks, the title track off Aldo's solo album (co-written and produced by Jon), at the same show in Houston 1991:

That was the greatest thing I've seen in probably 15 years. Jon should have released that album and toured it with Aldo and his band. Is there more?

Jon was on stage for 3 songs as far as I know: Blaze of Glory, Blood on the Bricks and All Right Now (Bad Company cover).

A "home movie" shot on an analog Video 8 camera by Mark Bowman Images of the 1991 KLOL-FM Houston Rock and Roll Auction (with musical performances) at The Summit in Houston, Texas.

This video starts with the ribbon cutting by Paul Rodgers and Kenney Jones. Next comes a short set by The Arc Angels (Doyle Bramhall II & Charlie Sexton, with Double Trouble's Tommy Shannon and Chris "Whipper" Layton. Next up comes a set by Night Ranger, followed by an unbelievable "Unplugged" setlist performed by hometown heroes, "King's X" fresh from their "Faith, Hope, Love" tour. Lastly, we get a scorching set from Aldo Nova, who is joined by his pal, Jon Bon Jovi for a little "Blaze Of Glory" and more. Finally, Paul Rodgers and Kenney Jones join the team for a closing jam on Free's "All Right Now".....

These annual KLOL-FM Rock and Roll Auctions were a highlight of the year in Houston.... 24 years ago - a little snapshot of Houston music history....!

(PS - The camcorder microphone was overloaded by the PA System, but you will get the idea.....lots of energy and excitement in this one too!!) These video uploads are completely nonprofit, no copyright infringement intended. The intention is rather to encourage those among the audience who enjoy the clips to buy the artists' CDs and DVDs and thus support them or their legal heirs.

That's amazing. I was only let down by the instrumental part of Blaze Of Glore. I thought that Aldo and Phil X would be able to play the lead and rhythm parts satisfactorily (Jon & Richie much better and one of them is not a guitarist).
It's obvious how much safer the band was in Blood On The Bricks. I loved the video (so I posted it on Aldo's profile on facebook :) ).

I love Jon singing BOTB. He sings it like he owns it and brings a whole new dynamic to the song. It kill me to know he worked on an album between Blaze and Faith, during his vocal prime, and the songs were sung by someone else.

Someone needs to try and clean that audio. That is a hidden gem.

Fantastic performance of I'll Be There For You, Kiel 1993:

Very nice extended performance of Born To Be My Baby with Jon already adding extra lines right at the beginning:

I'd forgotten about this until I had a day off to try and dig out the DVD it was on. I've got a clip of it, but its not the interview I thought it was.

Unfortunately being an old disc, my PC is not liking it and I can't seem to extract it directly, so for now here is a bit of a ropey recording from my phone so sadly a bit quiet. I'll update if I can find it on another DVD
