What an amazing performance man... would've been even better if it was Richie instead of Bandiera. It's bitter sweet seeing these old covers that Jon used to do with so much passion knowing we'll never get something like this ever again...

This is why I love the internet / YouTube. It's like a magical vault of music... However, I'm at the point where I need a refill...

He also did it in 2015 ,although his range is completly gone he still looks like he's singing with passion

I remember watching the video and loved and hated it. I loved that Jon seemed to sing with a bit of passion but the vocals are just so bad. Way off within the first min or so. I genuinely do believe we could find a much better group of singers drunk in a karaoke bar on a Saturday night. Such a shame.

Walleris 05-20-2016 05:41 PM

I don't think it was that bad, I expected worse. It seems to somewhat fit his current minimal range.

I'd be OK if a new Bon Jovi ballad sounded something like this vs. the regular Cohen-esque non-sense of the last couple of albums.

Maybe the finest of their killer shows in the summer of 1995.

new age BJ mix

Hey guys! Here is a 1h mix of post 2000 Bon Jovi, with the following features:

1) I didn't put the standard songs (almost..)
2) I actually cut out many parts which sounded over-repeating or boring
3) I mixed them to follow one another in a continuous mode
4) The emphasis is on groovy fun stuff.

I would love to read comments from you true bj fans. Also I suppose it would be better if you didn't scroll to read the songlist, because it is nice to be "surprised" at the order and what is actually in there.

Thanx.

So it's basically an uptempo studio version of your greatest hits???

Nice enough for me to listen to in the background at work this morning, but I was expected a mix with the songs actually mixed into a megamix. It's mostly just a collection of songs played back to back, whereas it would be good to say have a verse/chorus of Thorn. into Everybody's broken for a bit then into something else, rather than just songs played back to back. You don't need the whole of Temptation in there for example.

But cheers for the background to a boring morning at work!

jazzsta 06-08-2016 12:44 PM

Half of it would make it to my "greatest post 2000 bj hits".. But the focus was more to try to make an energetic bj compilation with songs not so famous (more or less). It is more meant as an attempt to have a mix that nicely represents the bj-liveyourlife-feelgood energetic side. The focus was more to the coherance of the whole mix than to collect individual songs.

Like a way to repromote some bj material that's a bit lost. Not necessarily to already hardcore fans of course.

That's cool man... it's all good...

Last year, I took the main chorus from EVERY Bon Jovi song and made a mega mix. I didn't make them one long track but put them in a folder for a shuffle mix play... it was cool to get through an entire collection in a few hours...

Yeah well, my intention indeed was just to put songs back to back, but with a bit editing so that we skip some of the repetitiveness which with this mechanical Shanks neosound, becomes too tiring.

Temptation is not tiring and it is pleasant to listen to from beginning to end, which is why I let the whole of it there. Though I get your point. What I actually regret having (and without any editing) in there is Another Reason to Believe. Hook Me Up would have been much cooler probably. But ok, it's done now.

Thanks for your comments guys.

From Osaka 2000

I think Jon sounds really good here - sounds quite similar to 1995 (heard a few 1995 versions)!

Yes it is - I had forgotten about this one. Wow!

Lucas_Roli 06-14-2016 07:02 PM

I hope they use this as their opening song on the next tour!! Btw why didn't Jon perform this more often back then? Richie sounds cool but I really do prefer Jon on this one.

Since you posted those great acoustic songs I will post one more - one of my favorites. They did this several times around that time but this is the best version of it.

Agreed - I absolutely love this one as well!

One more that I re-watched today:

The transition from the acoustic to the electric version makes this my favourite performance of this song.

It's time for some new leaks... I've listened to all these gems so many times now... Probably more so than the newer albums...

Jerry Cohen. That was the time when David Bryan had severly injured his finger in an accident with a circular saw.

Didn't know this existed! Cool to hear it, but it shows they didn't perform it often....

Here is an audience live version of what 'Thank You For Loving Me' should sound like if Luke Ebbin didn't do a shitty job on it... The album version is just too bland...

So I got hooked on this song lately...while not as long as the 2010 performances, this is a little gem in the mess known as the BWC Tour.

I was working for Universal Music at the time and was promised a ticket for this gig.
The guy at the Mercury let me down and I didnt go. Gutted isnt the word.
He was meant to courier me my ticket but forgot so it was left on his desk all night.
