That's true in theory, but in reality Bon Jovi have not historically toured there every 5 years, more like every 2-3 years. They toured most of the same places in 2000, 2001, 2003, 2006, 2008, 2011, and 2013. That's quite a saturation. Naturally, by 2013 there was quite a fatigue in the EU market, especially if you're trying to fill-in stadiums.

Now if we assume that they're not touring Europe in 2018 (safe assumption), then there would be at least 6 year break from the previous tour.

As bad as Jon is live I expect the demand to be higher than 2013 by masses. In terms of demand, time is usually kind for inactive legends. Perhaps not drastically, I'd guess back to 2008-2011 levels.

strangely i agree with you :D:D those who don't follow the band but are casual fans (here in italy those are 95% of the crowd at concerts) don't even know about the state of jon's vocals, so they're definitely going to buy it. What i'm worried about is that the last song heard here on the radio was maybe superman tonight?? or maybe even hand, so the setlists have to be full of "old" songs, not exactly the ideal situation for jon..maybe that's why they are waiting so long, hoping for some kind of jon's throat rebirth

Both Walleris and you are making good points. What I'm more worried about is, as you said, the state of Jon's vocals. If Jon progresses to sound as horrific as he does these days, a great amount of casuals won't go again after the next tour. So they essentially might have one good European run left in them if they can get a reasonably strong single on the radio.

Won't be touring in Europe in 2018. Confirmed by JBJ last night.

I think that it was written and intended to be put on KTF, but the guys probably thought it wasn't good enough. I would've liked if they put that on KTF instead of Woman In Love.

DavetheGodofKeys 02-28-2018 07:49 PM

A good performance of IML and Jon even goes for the high - " my heart is like an open highway" just like on the studio version!

I remember Jon saying he liked the song but “the hurt was too fresh” or something to that effect.

Fantastic!!! That live version of Fear is insane!!! And I really like the arrangement of the acoustic version of I Want You!!!

I've finally had time to watch the whole iHeart Rado performance. Not too bad at all. Sure, there's dark, but there's light as well. I just don't get how Jon would struggle that much with the new/easy songs and then deliver solid perfomances on the hits...

Just the audio of I Believe and Bed of Roses are from Milton Keynes. We don't have any video for it either, the performances are mostly compiled from Dortmund, Hamburg, Brussels, Tampa, Stockholm 1993 with a few additional shots like Alvalade, Buenos Aires etc. ;)

That's the one we were discussing here previously. There used to be a video of it on Youtube, I remember it being on a Japanese TV show and it had big tubes puffing out smoke behind them randomly. Was marked up as a "karaoke" version as it had lyrics, along with the other Japanese version that is called a Karaoke version that's still knocking about on YT. ()

Nice festival gig. Pretty good performance of I Believe. Stranger is also performed.

Edit: I just realised that Jon goes for the last high " WOOOAAH" in I Believe.

The banter during Bad Medicine around an hour and 4 minutes is really fun.

I think Richie did one of those jungle noises from KTF just before the solo in Stranger In This Town in Denmark 1995. I heard something very similar.

Man, Roulette is a great song, it has one of Richie's best guitar riffs of the 80s, along with LYHOM and In And Out Of Love!

They managed to pull those old songs off quite well, but I'm glad that they stepped away from The Hardest Part Is The Night. That recording sounded horrendous and I'm glad they sticked to some other songs instead (even though they dropped them way too fast).

It was a soundcheck, maybe with more practice, they would have made a decent version live. Never know. In & Out of Love could also have been great.

That was very enjoyable. That solo is awesome. All due respect to Phil but he is simply not on this level. BTW, this is why fans keep wanting Richie back since Jon was wondering, if we're over the Richie thing yet. I am not over it yet. The same as I'm not over hoping we can get that awesome lead singer back. This is the band I would go see in concert.
