Lol no. What I mean was a Jolly Performance of that song where everyone doesn't look bored.

I'm a little suspicious to talk, cause I really love Captain Crash (the song haha)

And for me, this version is the best. The band and the crowd seems to enjoy this a lot, from start to finish.

Ps.: what a great ****ing crowd and a great ****ing show!!!

Also this show is one of the best ones from the Bounce tour! Great stuff man!

I like the one from the Crush Tour DVD as well!

BJFan99 03-24-2018 10:46 AM

Holy shit. I don't think this tour is that much of a mess anymore:

https://youtu.be/BU8s9k0kKRs

Actually, Jon no longer sounds AWFUL for me even as a whole. His tone is still rough and he misses a note or two here and there, but he's no longer embarrassingly out of key like last spring (except for Who Says + Medicine) and doesn't sound or look like he's in a lot of pain while singing anymore. His breathing technique seems to have gotten better as well, as the whispering is much less now than it was even in South America.

His voice is still "shot", but to say it hasn't gotten any better since last spring (or better yet, late 2013-late 2016) is quite a stretch. (Watching you, Walleris!) I'm not saying he sounds great - far from it -, but his vocals are no longer unlistenable for me. He has improved; not drastically, but still.

Does anyone know what's being said between 7:35 and 7:42?

The Shepherds Bush show isn't from the Bounce tour. It was a warm-up show for the band. The first official date of the Bounce Tour is Etihad Stadium, 8th December 2002.

Wow. That's one of the worst ones I've heard.

Most of them, the guy will have got from this forum. Never heard that one before, though.

The "guy" is probably Sossy who went from Jon-can-do-no-wrong fan to a Jon-is-the-source-of-all-evil hater in basically no time.

rolo_tomachi 03-25-2018 04:20 PM

Almost all the bands have borrowed or stolen something, Led Zeppelin, Queen, U2, Foo Fighters, Aerosmith, Bon Jovi ....... but I do not think that it will be worry in Bon Jovi's case, almost all his hits have their own essence and their own language within their style.

Uhh not really. That was a festival show with a less than 10 song setlist. The Bounce tour kicked off in January of 2003 in Japan.

The girl with the heavily photoshopped avatar of Jon? Huh. The English in the other vid on that channel isn't quite German-ish enough. The list of "scandalous" "personal" experiences ("I read he cheats on his wife" is a personal story now?) might match, but there's also a bit too much focus on the 80s... but oh man, "he never reacted to me on social media, what a prick" - that video is ****ing creepy.

Also, that "30 songs..." video is incomplete, at least for me. So whoever you are, given you've linked to DryCounty, if you're reading this, fix that vid.

It was a festival show, but it is listed as part of the Bounce tour along with 2 others from Australia in late 2002.

Radio is a great jovi track. Would love to hear it with a proper solo

Wikipedia.

Captain_jovi 03-25-2018 05:56 PM

I don't mean to push this convo off topic but those dates were not part of the band's tour for the album. The proper Bounce tour didn't start until January of 2003. Doing promo dates on someone else's festival doesn't make it part of a tour, just my opinion.

rokenrola 03-25-2018 05:58 PM

times squere, tokyo and sheperds bush all promotion before start of the tour in australia in december 2002.

That's what I was saying. The tour started in Australia, not Japan.

bonjovi90 03-25-2018 06:08 PM

That's what wikipedia says, but that's full of shit sometimes.
Yes, they played stadiums there, but as part of festivals and even at that time the band was talking about doing promotion there.
Just like 2001 in Melbourne, it wasn't part of the tour, just because they did play some shorter sets in stadiums.
In 2010, it was announced in a big way that the band was returning to Australia for their first tour in 15 years (also stated so in band interviews), meaning that they don't list these shows as part of the Bounce tour themselves. It was part of the 2002 promo cycle.

Captain_jovi 03-25-2018 06:11 PM

The Rumba Festival was not part of the Bounce tour. There was no Bon Jovi stage, it wasn't their crew, promos, merch saying Bounce tour or anything. Doing a show on a festival doesn't make it part of a tour regardless of what Wikipedia tells you. There's dozens of interviews with the band saying the tour starts January in Japan.

This is promo, not the Bounce tour.

Seems like it is promo and concerts, because they didnt come later in 2003 in Australia, all the three were festivals, but you can count them as part of the tour.

Great job as always, thanks! My takeaways:
- The atmosphere was absolutely electric, I can only imagine how that must've felt live! The pop that the first chord received, you'd think it's one of their bigger hits.
- it sounds like there are some backing vocals during the bridge ("now the oil is gone and the money's gone"), which surprised me, because I was not used to hearing that in post-2000 performances. I wonder when and why Richie/David stopped doing that.
- it was 2006 and Jon sounded very compromised at certain parts, which makes me a) appreciate how much better he sang it in 2008-2011; and b) dread how atrocious it would sound in 2018.
- In a perfect world, is there another song they could play that has been shelved for so long that its return would be as magical as this? In and out of Love? :D

I still just don't understand how a stop like that with multiple artists can be considered part of the tour. I've seen/heard promo from the band's camp saying Japan as well so I guess it's both....?

They were really the greatest live band back then.
