With all these Australian/Runaway Tours rumors I was listening the good Runaway (Melbourne 09.09.1987) but of course I don't find it on youtube... if you have it, that's my recommendation for today; right now listening the solo in I'd die for you...

Not YouTube but didn't want to make a new thread.

Jon sounds VERY good here in my opinion. Rasp is great as well on that STOP!

Wow - he's actually singing well in that video. Maybe there's hope.

God dammit.

That's the best I've heard Jon sound in the last five years or so... granted, it's only a little snippet, but if the whole performance sounded this good, there actually might be some hope left.

no whispering, no timing problems, let's hope it's not just a "120%" thing cause it's a 1 song only performance

I thought he sounded a little weak on the other ones: Who says, Prayer, It’s my life, Bad name... but I agree, in this one he sounded pretty good!!! -_-

This man sounds bad, and the next minute of course he sounds GOOD!

joke was good

acoustics are pretty cool.

manarosi 06-06-2018 12:26 PM

it is a little off topic but i can't find a topic about this...somebody has amazon music? there's an album called transmission impossible that is a collection of songs live of bj...what i wanted to ask is if anybody knew about this and if somebody can explain me jon's voice, seems like songs have been slowed down after the registration
for example always is the jay leno performance but is so much lower

Probably due to copyright reasons. The sound quality on Transmissions sucks otherwise as well.

I haven't heard of this particular release, but terrible fake live albums live this one with transposed keys to pass through copyright is a very common phenomenon, I see it all the time for different artists. These people that try to make money of it should burn in hell.

yeah but how those be published on amazon?? i mean, they don't really check what's uploaded?? i listened every track and there are a couple that are in original key and tempo

Walleris 06-06-2018 07:58 PM

They check and it will get deleted sooner or later, but this takes time. And it’s not just Amazon, every now and then the same type of stuff pops up on Spotify, iTunes, etc.

And they always rehash the same performances over and over again for these kind of things. Back in 2006 I got a DVD called "In Performance - The Halcyon Years" and it featured Toyko 1988 and the these US TV appearances as well (in a small video frame that was barely worth writing home about).

This is honestly really decent! The rasp sounds good and Jon sounds like he's actually singing instead of whispering!

playback on the ktf chorus?

Captain_jovi 06-08-2018 06:22 PM

The whole KTF is playback. You can hear the maracas.

have you seen the clip in the past? looks like decent quality... i wonder how many pro shots are shelved in bj basement/archive and from various tv stations...

jon-flp 06-08-2018 09:00 PM

a very, very enjoyable version of "hearts breaking even" from a cover band of Brazil:

Top 20 Power Ballads

Not a performance, but a nicely put together countdown of the top 20 Bon Jovi power ballads. It's a little over 15 minutes long, so skim through it if you just want to know what the list is.

That Dutch TV special was re-aired by the channel in 2012.

Even though I don't like the band for other reasons, that's a pretty great rendition!

Kon Chauvi also used to play it and had actually released a SBD of it:

In a similar vein, BBC4 in the UK have been reshowing old Top Of The Pops in chronological order for the past few years (with some remove due to noncery) , they are up to October 1985 at the moment, so the 1986 ones will be next up, so should enable better captures of the Jovi performances there.

bonjovi90 06-10-2018 11:45 PM

One of my favourite performances of this song:

Unfortunately, they just never seem to nail a rendition of it completely. But the band is tight here and Jon's quite good as well!

Are the "Rapapapao" jungle noises in KTF supposed to be symbolizing, representing (Whatever word to use..) an animal or some kind of sound? If so what?
