Always played in original style, OWN-tour 2001. Jon still sounds very good. What the hell happened?

Wouldn't be suprised to see the full blown version make an appearance or 2 if they do a greatest hits tour for ther new hits cd...

who knows tho...

it was great to just hear them powerfull lyrics on the HAND tour...even tho it wernt the full blown version...

I strongly doubt that he can sing it as well now as he does in the clip. Already during the acoustic concert in Barcelona in 2003 he has obvious problems reaching the high notes.

Ye but i'd say his voice has got better if anything since 2003...they performed the full blown version at one of the New Jersey arena shows on the bounce tour.... don't sound to much different from his effort from that of the One Wild Night tour video from Paris...

Yeah I agree that his voicd has gotten better. But if he´s still able to pull it off, he really should have! At least at some of the concerts.. Then we don´t have to wonder :)..

Yep, he sang it at the Feb 2003, CAA show in NJ on the Bounce tour as well as in Chicago and Phoenix on the Bounce tour. Phoenix is where he struggled the most with the song but he sang it at the end of the show and with the dry air it was not a surprise he struggled with the high parts.

So, I agree with Ollie, I don't think singing Always the TLFR style means he can't still pull it off the original way but there is no doubt that it strains his voice.

Cinderella - Somebody Save Me <-- you have to watch it to the end though to see why it's relevant :D

You have no idea how hard I've searched for this video on YouTube, thanks!! I remembered this particular video, when I read my old diary where I wrote about having seen it for the first time (it had just come out, back in 1987 :)) and what a pleasant surprise that closing scene was, lol! I had all but forgotten about the actual song over the years but it was great to hear it again -ah, good old 80s! :D

Richie-With A Little Help From My Friends

DevilsSon 09-24-2006 03:28 AM

Richie's a genius...god damn it. The more of his performances I see, the more I wish he was a solo artist.

Javier 09-24-2006 07:16 AM

anybody know why Tico didn't play here??]
was he sick or something at that time?

Art exhibit I think. It was discussed not that long ago on some post. Becky posted the name of the drummer. His name escapes me right now.

DevilsSon 09-24-2006 12:47 PM

Part of Tico's drum solo in the intro of Blaze of Glory in Munich. Damn, I wish I could find the whole thing somewhere. That was just a BLAST!

If you´ve found it, please tell me!!!
I´m proud to say, I "take the blame" for BJ played it at least one time the hole stadium tour.

aaaa...WHAT?!

mat 09-26-2006 04:14 PM

This is pretty hilarious!

HeartsBreakingEven 09-26-2006 04:17 PM

It´s off topic. But I tell you in short words. I send Jon a gift, said "Thank You" for an awsome concert in Des Moines last year, especially BOG. After 4 shows in Europe, I was afraid, they wouldn´t play this BOG again, so I made a little banner "Thank you for the best BOG in Des Moines!" Jon noticed it in HeLi and Stuttgart and they played it in Muenchen! I almost died!

Can anyone find the Ophra Show on youtube?? Seemed, they deleted it?!
