This is getting stupid...

I appreciate Mods have a difficult job when dealing with little shits like Chavthomas, but its getting annoying when decents threads are locked because one person cant participate in an adult discussion.

He really is dictating the way things are run around here....

Thomas Anderson 08-17-2006 06:45 PM

I understand the board policy of no banning, but if people like this are allowed freedom to reign then the board will lose more people due to them leaving from not liking the atmosphere than losing just the odd idiot.

Kev 08-17-2006 06:48 PM

I apologise for locking THAT thread. I'm afraid I couldn't let it continue the same way. It wasn't going to get any better....probably just worse unfortunately. I agree though, the line was crossed, which I'm sure you will agree with me.

Panama, I hope you are alright.

Kev.

gazthomas 08-17-2006 06:49 PM

sorry

i know what ive done is wrong

jbjhand 08-17-2006 07:00 PM

got to agree carli there was some good debate on that thread. Mods please change the rules and ban him. for all our sakes.

Iceman 08-17-2006 07:01 PM

I say ban the little racist. If anyone can name one positive thing he's brought to the board, then do it now. Otherwise PM a mod to ban Gaz or voice your opinion here.

Ice

gazthomas 08-17-2006 07:02 PM

on the other hand **** it do what you want im not postin anymore so screw you

see you in a few months

ponrauil 08-17-2006 07:10 PM

I don't think we should start banning for such a prick. The freedom of speech on this board is worth more than him and the trouble he causes. All opinions are allowed to be voiced, or should be, however dumb they are. Isn't there an "ignore poster" feature?

I don't even think the thread should have been locked.

Locking threads he spams gives him too much credit and just transfers the problem on other threads. Banning won't stop him from signing up as another poster.

Let him come across as the idiot that he is and he'll either isolate himself in his ignorance or learn.

I have him on my ignore list so I don't have to read his bullshit.

i know why youve done that Kathleen but that thread was quite interesting and now its closed because Gaz is making sick racist comments. i had one person on ignore once but then i had to take them off cause i couldnt understand what was causing all the arguments.

i know he could easily rejoin if he was banned but we would soon realise who it was and get rid of him again . he will get bored at somepoint surely?

Captain_jovi 08-17-2006 07:30 PM

Free speech is all well and good but once the topic of racism or religion comes up, that's when it gets iffy. He's getting away with saying some sick, messed up things.

Kathleen 08-17-2006 07:33 PM

It was a good thread - with alot of different opinions. I cannot tolerate racists though. I agree with Ice - name one positive thing that he has contributed to the board. He has never done anything but cause trouble.

i dnt see the racist thing that he did but to me he just seem like a litte boy who wants to try and annoy as many people as possible so he says what he thinks will get the biggest reaction!! and if he does mean what he says he needs to wise up!! im sure it will come with age sooner or later!

Actually unless you are 'taught' otherwise I'd think that people are not inherently racist. Young children will happily play together without caring what skin colour each is no different than they would think of hair colour or any other difference, it is only when they grow up and are told bad things by idiots that they start to form these stupid racist opinions.

yea true!! but i think hes just immature and trying to get a rise out of people by saying them things! and now that everyone is on his case he thinks its great so keeps doing it more! he'll grow out of it as a lot of teenagers act the same!

Alex 08-17-2006 08:29 PM

I agree with Ponrauil, for the full 100%.

This is still "just" a message board though. For all I care he can cause all the trouble he wants. And when he'll put stupid comments up, he'll find people that will stand up to him. Unless threads are locked...

I think some of you are making too much of him.

Ponrauil

Becky 08-17-2006 08:39 PM

I split the thread and put the gaz crap in the Trash Can. I hope that will be something everyone can live with. If he makes any more questionable posts, please report the post and one of the moderators can delete it.

In one way you are entirely right. On the other hand - it is very tiring to "stand up to him" and constantly wind up in stupid pointless arguments. I guess the racist stuff just crosses the line in my opinion. Especially since he just had many privleges taken away because he was personally attacking people. Even on "just" a message board - a person should not be attacked personally in my opinion. You can disagree with someone all you want - even disagree very strongly - but don't attack that person personally.

If banning isn't an option, then maybe everyone should just agree to ignore him. It isn't fun anymore if people don't respond to his nonsense. Besides, your comments aren't going to change him, but instead give him the attention he desires. Stop the attention, and he will eventually get bored.

I agree - that's why I have had him on my ignore list. If people wouldn't quote him that would be even better.

Kathleen

Thomas Anderson 08-17-2006 09:58 PM

After today I've added him to my ignore list aswell, I'm fed up of argueing

ponrauil 08-17-2006 10:10 PM

Ok, all ignore him if you find him that big of a nuisance. Leave him to me :)

I promise I won't quote him!
