Hull gig there in june
what was the craic with it?
what was so baD? confused?! :snipersm: |
I actually went and had a great time....the band were fine, but Jon was in a really pissed off mood, frowned all night and according to some people, gave a half assed performance. ....maybe by his own high standards, he had an off night - but they still played for nigh on 2 hours. For the final gig of the European tour, it was a bit of an anti - climax. The set was fairly routine, no real suprises. Kinda gave the impression that he was goin through the motions at times, but overall, it wasn't the epic disaster that many people reported...
People saying that they left crying and shit was a total over reaction imo. Where I was, everyone seemed quite happy. The atmosphere was great.... It was just Jon's attitude that was displeasing. I'm sure some other posters will give ya a more damning report. |
i was disappointed but i agree crying over it is a bit OTT.
here's a few things wrong with hull: 1) Rain - i know out of the band's control but it was a miserable day. i nearly drowned. 2) ONE MORE ****ING TIME - jon's comment in the middle of bad medicine. yes once more with feeling jon.... 3) grievous bodily harm to Tico's drumkit shield thingy. basically Jon went at it hammer and tongs with his maraccas. 4) no band introduction 5) no goodbye seeya next time etc 6) no hold hands bow thing 7) little/no encore 8) Jon had a face like a smacked arse all night having said that it was kinda funny in parts especially the marracca incident. ________ Sharif |
I was more annoyed than anything else, mainly cause i skipped MK2 for it though.

If you check a few pages into this forum you could read the Hull thread and find out. There are also links to video clips posted in that thread.

Slightly off topic .... I've seen the word 'craic' used a lot on this board by the Scottish posters, but what the hell does it mean .... ?
