well all i know is if Ajax had been able to keep the team together that they had back in 1994 they would have been one of the greatest teams to play together!

Nope NOT.

Sar van der Edwin - brilliant
Reiziger Michael - never got to this level of that year, bench at PSV now
Blind Danny - had his best season in 95
Boer de Frank - same had a good year a Barca after, that's it
Rijkaard Frank - was his last year
Seedorf Clarence - made it, so 2nd this far
Litmanen Jari - Last good season
Davids Edgar - made it, 3rd
Finidi George - failed at Betis, don't even know what happened to him
Boer de Ronald - always been overated
Overmars Marc - geuss you can count this one as 4th

So from the ones playing in the final against Milan only 4 went further where they were in 95.

what sort of logic is that? "only 4"? 4 is more than you need. Let's say Barca wouldn't have had Deco, Ronaldinho, Eto'O and Puyol last year. What would they have done??

Of course Ajax had a great team back in 1995 and even though the win over Milan came as a surprize it was anything but undeserved. By the way, that was the only time in history that a Romanian refereed the Champions League final :)

they had a great team, and neither one of the 4 were as good as one of the one you mentioned (except Rijkaard) back then, just starting, was 1st and 2nd season for lots of players (incl seedorf / davids / overmars).

Next to that Barca (and any topteam) has better players then Ajax had besides the toptop players. Ajax just had a amazing year..

i disagree with them ratings lol.

Sar van der Edwin - your right fantastic goalkeeper
Reiziger Michael - played well at Barca for a few year then faded
Blind Danny - ok agree on that
Boer de Frank - had a few good years with barcelona, the team was poor
Rijkaard Frank - he was old nd done by then
Seedorf Clarence - more than made it
Litmanen Jari - played for barcelona and liverpool, and was fantastic for both
Davids Edgar - made it
Finidi George - played in england for a while was very good
Boer de Ronald - went to rangers what do u expect
Overmars Marc - was very good

you also forgot kluivert and Kanu both who went on to be stars in other clubs and played at the top level

i count 8 players that went on to make it big

TOMORROW...

AC MILAN - FC BAYERN MÜNCHEN EV

I can't wait...My tip is a 1-1 at the San Siro followed by a 2-1 in Munich which makes Bayern move to the semi-finals...

I love the Champions League. For me it's more intense than the world cup only that it is spread out over a longer period of time.

Malachy 04-03-2007 11:55 PM

well im not one to boast, but

3-0 to liverpool not bad result by any standered, thats should be us into the semi final

PSV just didnt want to know and it cost them big style

Emil 04-04-2007 12:56 AM

0-1 Steven
0-2 John Arne Riise
0-3 Peter "The Robot" Crouch

That´s how it´s done.

Milan - Bayern 2 - 2.

What a game... SIR VAN BUYTEN what goals he scored, my God. So Bayern is one step in the semi-finals. I am very curious about the game tomorrow.
