I've always been interested in classical Greek architecture though, pity its all falling to bits.

great photos looks like a beautiful place. i wonder if there's any cheap flights out to athens from scotland.

Honestly, I don't know. For us, there was neither the need nor the time for what I suppose you mean with nightlife. :) Sights and culture and a little bit of beach time, that's why we were there. Sorry.

ive been to crete but i dont think cheap beer and vodka is a fair indication of the cost of living in greece as a whole.

Gorgeous pictures - thanks. I have always admired ancient Greek architecture and as Neil said - it's a shame it's deteriorating badly. I have always wanted to travel there and I have spent a lot of time with family in Italy but I have never made it to Greece.
