classic ford's

any body here own a classic ford? i just got myself a escort rs turbo for me to chill out on between my rugby sessions, yeah i know a typicall boi racer car but im having this as my first classic ford project and probally my only one. my mate is helping me out to modify it he knows his fords! at the end of it the car will have a whopping 210 bhp! (hopefully)

i built a fiesta RS turbo and that ended up with 197 BHP at the wheels!! It was too fast for the car to handle , good fun though

lol sounds cool you build it your self? and how the **** u get a fiesta to do that? what you do to it?

Yeah i built it myself :) i did it for a customer who came in with £2000 and asked me to make it go faster . So i ported and polished the head, fitted larger valves . i put a rally cam with fixed lifters to give the torque .With the bottom end i stroked the crank.Thats were you grind it offset so that it gives a longer stroke .i lightened and polished the con rods aswell as the crank and flywheel .With the pistons i polished the tops and shaved the shirks so that they were razor sharp. This is so that when the piston goes down the bore it cuts the oil out of the way rather than pushing it , hence it goes much much faster .The last thing i did was to chip it. It was a very mad car and if you wanted to it would wheel spin in 4th gear .

So is Kathleen :) Shall I post a picture of my classic Plymouth - built (and restored) from the ground up by my husband and me? It's been a labor of love and has taken years of weekends.

But it's not a Ford and perhaps doesn't belong in this thread LOL.
