This song should be the only Jon solo song performed in Bon Jovi shows. It is that good.

Mr Bluesman 10-10-2006 02:11 PM

It's a quality song. Gonna give it a listen now methinks.

TheseDays2005 10-10-2006 02:41 PM

yeah its my new rediscovered favourite (J)BJ song at the moment...
vocals are one of the best ones Jon has ever recorded on this song...

best jon vocals bar 'levon'.

Love that song! We've always played it in the car driving into Santa Fe.

You know what?

I was just listening to this yesterday. It has always been one of those songs I'd rave about when it came to Jon's best work vocally and lyrically (and all else of course.)

I have to admit though...after being on a bout of Destination Anywhere as well as material like "Temptation,"....the vocals were actually getting on my nerves in this song. I was able to visualize a more laid back approach that melts warmly into the melody of the song that would actually go over better now. Maybe I'm just getting old. But it was just grating on my nerves! Some of those high notes and screams just plain weren't neccessary...even though impressive. It winds up turning the song into what would probably now be called "wind swept emo."

I haven't lost it...a few beers can change that attitude quite quickly...which was the point of that album and song anyway...it's a drinking album.

It's definitely a powerhouse vocal song. I would love to hear it toned down, as an alternate version. I still love it though.
