Best airline you've flown with??

So far, I have to say Emirates. Anyone else tried them? Where did you go to and from? I can say that they are good by the fact that I was happily entertained or sleeping for the 20 or so hours that I spent actually flying back from Germany yesterday.

So yeah, what do you think?

What do I think? I think that it sucks that you now half way around the earth, and that we need to meet up again soon for more beers :D

Other than that, I really enjoyed flying with Continental Airlines. Pretty nice flight and friendly staff :)

Well, at least the people here understand real football, LOL. That said, it's the off-season until March. Doh. :(

Keeper 10-24-2006 08:18 PM

Definitely NOT Iberia.

I have only flown around Europe and the best probably was British Airways.

choclady 10-24-2006 08:41 PM

Iberia is terrible!

The best so far is KLM, followed closely by British Airways.

I also like Lufthansa, but they're so expensive, so I rarely get to fly with them. Air Berlin is surprisingly good for a no-frills airline (you even get sandwiches on board). Ryan Air is pretty good too, considering the cheap prices for their flights. (I only had one bad experience with them).

Besides Iberia, there isn't really one airline in Europe that I dislike...

ponrauil 10-24-2006 08:48 PM

KLM? I used to fly all over Europe with them and they were crap, losing my luggage 2 flights out of 3 (and this is not an exageration)... Schipol airport is a mess... And their meals are terrible (well, they are a Dutch company :) ).

Air France is ok, except for their disrespectful crews and delays...

Lufthansa is pretty goood, so is BA. Tops are Emirates and Thai.

Do Iberia have anything to do with Air Scandic? If so, yeah, they're shite.

eriK 10-24-2006 09:24 PM

Emirates or Lufthansa.

Air malta sort of sucks... :D

RyanBounce04 10-24-2006 10:16 PM

Southwest Airlines. Pretty casual and friendly staff.

British Airways for me. They always were unfailingly polite and ontime. AND - they served me tea on board - real tea :) Most American airlines will only serve you coffee.

KLM does suck, btw. And I never had any good meal on a plane, regardless the airline.

Mad4Jovi 10-25-2006 12:25 AM

BA or Virgin Atlantic - both have been excellent whenever I've flown with them.

Continental were the worst airline I'd ever had the displeasure to pay money to. Never again!

..I've had tea on American ones but only with lemon! ;)..Emirates had the best on board entertainment...any film any time and any music any time....But I did have some chappy reciting the Koran behind me most of the night!..Not happy with Continental..been bumped! Not happy with KLM..lost luggage!...Loved Thai..got an orhid!!...Jet 2, my fave just for no frills, fantastic cheap flights.

Yvonne 10-25-2006 03:24 AM

british airways is the best i've been on. i've been on loads of airlines.....

ugly_queen_from_mars 10-25-2006 04:31 AM

well, i always have to deal with some kind of nervous breakdown when i fly and don't have much consciousness but i guess it's lufthansa. and olympic airways as the stewards told me to go to the pilot's cabin because i'd feel better. and it was a lot better indeed. i stayed there even while landing. that was the very first time i smiled while on board (lucky me i missed the flight with lufthansa and bought the olympic tickets :D ).

LOL. You forgot "and for the lad?"

LOL.

I very much vote in favor of BA. Excellent service and very polite. Preferred check in and security check for BA customers (triple stars). CUTE stewards who are embarrassingly flattering (*blushes massively*). Cute stewards. Stewards who are not only good looking but also very attentive and polite. Cute stewards. Witty too. Very patient with the folks unfamiliar with the british accent :) Great flight attendents ;)

and:

drumroll:

THE ACCENT!!!!!

In conclusion: British Airways RULES!

London Heathrow Ariport, oth, sucks.
As does Kopenhagen and Amsterdam.

Lufthansa used to be good, but really only what an airline should be. SAS is good, but again, what you need on a loooong flight. I did really like Lauda Air - not sure if they are still around.

Any of the American Airlines SUCK massively.

Oh and that Aussie one used to be ****ing shit!

uh-hu! We had 3 guys all cute. But the guy serving my aisle was 'the bomb'. I define cute as a whole package: easy on the eye, funny, communicative, witty... you know... "cute" :)

not sure about whole world cause Chicago O'Hare is pretty sucky as well.

Tip of the day:

Don't be drunk when changing flights in Chicago....

I don't think they need to worry about that, cause if you are drunk there is NO way you'll find your gate :)

.....blushes.... at least I didn't .....

My favourite airline with the best service I have seen so far is Virgin Atlantic. By miles!. Their service is excellent, seats wider than usual, decent hand luggage space over the seats, fantastic service, etc. And if you are lucky to fly in Business or Club class, well, it is paradise!. But their economy cabin is great too. I just wish they flew to Argentina as well.

Bristish Airways must be one of the best ones too. And, I was very impressed with Air Canada when I went to Toronto in February.

The worst one, in my opinion, is Alitalia.

I have flown with many others too like American Airlines, Varig, etc. and they were just ok.

!

Lauda Air was renamed into Niki a while ago. And now I think they are only offering flights in cooperation with Air Berlin, no single Lauda Air/Niki flights anymore...

allmike 10-25-2006 05:12 PM

Well not many good airlines i traveled with... so far its got to be Kingfisher airlines which is non- frill domestic airlines in India... total money worth... and girls are amazing too ;)

That's too bad. They were the best on the Munich-Miami route. Excellent flight schedule and the service and convenience surpassed Lufthansa. Much cheaper too.

we should have a JT meet up in the dam :-)

i hate flying because it's so uncomfortable and seriously doubt any decent airlines would make that much of a difference so im happy with globespan, monarch and the like.

when i missed my flight to prague the travel agents in the airport offered me a flight to prague with BA for about £700. i laughed, told them it would be cheaper to get a taxi there and walked out.

Oh no - not Heathrow - that would be Barajas Airport in Madrid. And even more now with Terminal 4. Besides, Heathrow airport has good shops!

Yeah.. that would be Amsterdam!!

I would say hands down Singapore Airline, I flew with them to Australia and it was amazing. Quite a bit of leg room, even in economy and they were forever walking around with drinks and noodles and fruit. The food was really good too. I also liked having my own personal TV... it was great - makes going to Australia again doable!

Shaz 10-26-2006 10:35 AM

Qantas and Cathay Pacific...Hawaiian Airlines was pretty good too. Singapore Airlines were brilliant between Sydney and Singapore but absolutely the shittest cabin staff ever on the leg between Singapore and Hong Kong.

I'm always pretty satisfied with KLM :). Apart from that one time in 2000 when they overbooked our seats and we had to wait for the next flight to New York we could get on. We got the flight for only 50% of the price we originally payed and we got meal vouchers... But we ended up on some dodgy Eastern European airline which seemed to have more people on the plane than there are actually seats... And our luggage arrived at JFK Airport a couple of days later.

Singapore Airline is IMO the best airline. Friendly people, pretty good food, a trustworthy airline. And Singapore Airport is the best airport to spend a night waiting for a connecting flight; with unlimited free use of the internet booths during these hours! And the monorail between the terminals is quite fun to spend time on while you're bored... :D

british airways but im not fussed

pegasus was the worst
