18 sold out shows in Europe my ass...
 

Why in the earth bonjovi.com says that there were 18 Europe shows sold out! There were about 6 in real world.
Here are the correct result of which shows were sold out:

Dusseldorf was
Linz was
Koblenz wasn't
Dublin wasn't
Hessisch wasn't
Nijmegen wasn't
Stuttgart wasn't
Munchen was
Inssbruck was
Bern wasn't
Glasgow wasn't
Manchester wasn't
Coventry wasn't
Southampton wasn't
Milton #1 wasn't
Milton #2 was
Hull was

All of those which weren't were close but still weren't sold out. What kind of kicks they get of saying that Bon Jovi sold out 18 shows in Europe... God...

I don't even wanna go to the States stadium shows statics...

What constitutes a "sell out" by a promoter is a certain percentage of tickets sold, normally it's 85-90%. So, from AEG's standpoint all of the shows were sold out. In the touring industry the term "sell out" does not mean that every ticket is sold.

Then I'm very sorry, I don't know what made me think that sold out would mean sold out...
And why in the world they would call the show sold out if there are thousand seats empty. That would be understandable if they had booked seats for media or technique but when seats are sparsely filled...?

They also need to leave some seats empty (by law), for security. I don´t know how many, but that´s like a rule they gotta follow.

Well... maybe in some sections of the stadium but that is not the deal with sparsely empty seats. When show is really sold out it is sold out and you cannot see a single empty seat. I've been in many sold out stadium shows and there haven't been seats emty. Maybe some sections near the stage or ground might be unavailable but that is the case. If you wanna know what really means sold out you can watch some pictures of them for example Munchen 06 and Giants 06... and well the situation is the same with every really SOLD OUT show.

Why does it matter? I was at Manchester and I don't know if that was classed as sold out, but it was pretty damn full, 50-60,000 people in there. You couldn't expect to pack out every single inch of space in there anyway, that would be ridiculous and against every safety regulation.

I'm not saying there is something bad with it. Don't get me wrong. I think thre were amazing spirit and evrything and I so wanted to be there but I just wanna say that those sparsely empty seats are not any safety reguirement.
Just wanna know why they are called as sold out. Here in Finland The Boss visited our Olympia Stadion and it was sold out; there were 45 thousand people and no seats empty but when Stones visited the same stadium they had 43 thousand fans with them but it was called just almost sold out show. I'm sure that in Stones homepage there are no mention about sold out Finland gig.
And what comes ot safety; in olympic styled stadiums it is forbidden to sel tickets to running ground but that is only safery reguorement... And oh well, now in America they put seats also to ground... which is not very safety my point of view. It could turn out to be ugly whn people start to hit each others with chairs:)

Different countries have their own safety regulations, ours are often stupid and too strict really, perhaps they aren't there so they don't need to set aside any seats. A stadium that can hold 60,000 people, to me, could be considered sold out if most of the seats were full, as someone said 90-95%. There is little chance with any show that every single seat would be occupied, dependant as I said on safety regulations.

Oh, and I'm now sure what kind of stadiums you're used to, but the couple I have been to the chairs are fixed in place, so I'm not sure how anyone could use them as weapons.
