To be blunt, your reputation of arguing for the sake of it and it's really hard to tell if you actually mean what you say or you just want to wind people up.

Yes but Peter doesnt have to know who he is dealing with, now would he?

If such a transaction/acquisition would be done, I would do that way different than you would think...

Depends if it were to be a going concern!

If not, then it is worth the realisable value of all Peter's assets.

Assuming they were to continue running it, then it would be the profit Peter makes from the advertising, less the costs of running it discounted into perpetuity (this would take account of any synergies created due to the use of duplicated assets / costs by the potential buyer). This value could be adjusted up or down, to take into account the risk associated with it. (I.e. if Bon Jovi were to break up, the value would drop considerably).

Spoken like a true City person :)

I'm not sure if it's relevant, but quite a few of us offered to pay a yearly fee of anything up to €20 to keep Jovitalk/Dry County going when it looked like it was under threat... I'm sure things like that would be taken into account - ie what the community members would be willing to "invest" in it as well. Not that I know anything about the way these things are run.
