Quick help needed!

we are having are annual Student Idol (same as Pop Idol) charity night for SVP and since i have put my name forward to sing either Bryan Adams run to u or Bruces Born to Run i was wondering does anyone of a website that i cant get backing tracks off?

Be easier probably to find some free audio editing software, Audacity is free I think but I don't know how good it is, and run a karaoke filter over it. Most will have the ability to do it, some might specify that it is a vocal removal filter, others you can just use a channel mixer and mix out the centre (where most vocals are found).

cheers!

i found i website and the demos sound good but 6 pound per song to download just is a bit to much IMO any one got a free download website lol

Well that's why I suggested editing an original because you probably won't find one that is both good and free.

Cool Edit Pro (now Adobe Audition) will edit out the center (or vocals). Just doing that makes a great backing track.

It's even better now Kathleen, I don't know if you've seen the latest version. It used to merely mix the channels and remove anything which was the same in both (anything which would be in the centre, so vocals, but also other things) but the new version focuses on that and has a specific filter that targets the frequencies specificially (you can set these ranges) so you can make a karaoke type track, or do the opposite and make it accapella (though that rarely works well). If you try it on more recent music it works much better, perhaps due to different ways of mixing now I don't know. Try doing 'It's My Life' it sounds very good.

I have to use this program for my program at school, how does one reach this feature? I'm sort of new to it and am just learning the ropes.

EDIT: Scratch that, just figured it out, VERY cool.
