Is it possible to be that romantic?

Many of Bon Jovi's love songs are so romantic and exactly what a woman wants to hear from the man in their life. Like this week I was listening to You Had Me From Hello the part when the lyrics say:
To me you look so beautiful when you cant make up your mind
Its half past eight, its getting late
Its ok, take your time

Standing here my hands in my pockets
Like I have a thousand times
Thinking back it took one breath
One word to change my life
The first time I saw you it felt like coming home
If I never told you I just want you to know
You had me from hello

There are tons more examples that really get me, like from Always and Thank You for Loving Me ... Is is possible to be that romantic and still be of the male species. Not to sound too jaded ha ha What guy waits for their women putting on make-up and tells them to take their time? Are the lyrics put on for the female crowd, or genuine. I've gotta think they are genuine. If they are genuine, Richie and Jon have some of the biggest hearts around. Either way, I still love the loves songs!

once in a German TV show Jon and Richie were asked if they were really that romantic and "candle lights" and all the stuff. Jon answered they did it only for the fans pointing to the crowd where there were 90% women whereas Richie said "LIGHTS ON" reffering to the candle light.

I guess that means they are conciously targeting a certain public with those.

I think Richie is the more romantic one. Heather mentioned in several interviews that he would leave her love notes. Jon seems to write more "make up" love songs to get him out of the dog house, lol!

And in the end - some guys really are more romantic than others. My husband happens to one of them. With all eveidence to the contrary he believes in "being in love" after all these years. It's nice - and I've learned (the hard way sometimes) that it really is genuine.

people can be that romantic... but a lot of song writers are not romantic, they have a problem with expressing themselves verbally to their partner so they put their feelings into music. I know Jon in the past has said he couldnt find the words so wrote Dot a song instead, but who really knows......

I didn't know that about Richie being the romantic one. I always wonder about Jon's make-up songs, are they based off of real life issues from home. None of my business, but I still think about it when I hear those songs.

personally i find all that gag inducing and not romantic. i'd prefer a packet of love hearts to a bunch of roses any day.

maybe i'm just a cheap date.

if they were that romantic they wouldn't have to write songs apologising. they just do it to appeal to daft girls- ah he's so lovely and caring: chances are he's not. like gaz here he's just trying to get in your pants - and blokes who can be reassured about their crap-ness to their wives/girlfriends. especially bed of roses... total people pleaser. soppy, yet implies machismo because of the cheating. and thankyoufor loving me 'it takes a real man to make a statemnt that humble' jon said about it. so basically macho posturing.

Haha, I gave a girl some love hearts, she thought it was one of the most romantic things ever! Anyways, in answer to the question, yes, guys can be that romantic, I've said and done loads of stuff like that. Not because I want to get in her pants, just because I love her. As for the macho bit, we only use that because our mates are giving us stick for being so soppy, we retort with something like "just because you don't have the balls to do it..."

Yes,it is. My boyfriend is that romantic and I consider myself really REALLY lucky.
About Jon or Richie they gotta be that romantic(c'mon!),even if I understand that maybe sometimes they exaggerate....just a little bit.(hihih)
But if a guy can write words like those of "Bed of roses" then he's pure, genuine and totally romantic.:)
