I lost my job today..
Great start to the week!! Come in today and I get called in to my boss' office and I get told that due to cost reductions my job has become obsolete and I can go. I'm getting a settlement but still!! I've never lost a job before and I was so shocked..
Anyone else been through the same? |
That's too bad. Hope you've got a backup plan.
Would've gotten fired from my Sam Goody job because the District Manager was afraid of losing his job and was firing everyone who didn't meet the insane quotas for "Replay Cards." Told the store manager if he thought I'd not done my job to the best of my ability that he should fire me then and there. He said no. The store wound up closing. Didn't sell enough cellphones and Radioshack cut my hours to the point where it didn't make sense for them to keep me on the calender. I quit before it got to that. Adrian |
Ugh, that's horrible! I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you can find something new soon. Good luck!!!!!!

Crap! Are you alright Tash? Thats really sad. Are you gonna look for something else straight away, or take some time out? Last thing you need at this time of year :(

Ow no - I'm so sorry to hear that Tash!! I can believe this is a shock for you!!
For me, ow well ... I am ALWAYS looking for a job. I'm a teacher (primary school) and not that much jobs except for interims (replacing a sick teacher). So I'm without job more then I want. Schoolyear started September 1st and I am in my 5th school already for this year. Now I am in one school for 1,5 months in total and I consider this already 'long period'. I often get jobs for only a few days. I always do them as I think when there is a longer job for me there they will think of me first and not the teachers who always say 'no' to short jobs. Good luck with finding a new job Tash!! |
Oh Tash - that just sucks -especially this time of year. Sometimes you see it coming - and somethimes you don't. Since I have been a consultant myself for 26 years I have never lost a job - but there were lots of jobs I didn't get either.
My husband was fired on Jan 4th - right after the holidays back in 1992 and it was a huge shock and a really horrible time. Don't get too depressed and go right out and try to find another one - it's about all that you can do. Kathleen |
I'm also sorry to hear that. I hope everything will work out in the end. Get out there and find another job. Look at it this way... It's possible that the next job you have will be a little bit better.

I'm really sorry to hear that, Tash! But I'm sure something much better will come along, and soon!
