so i met jon bon jovi a few weeks ago and...
yeah. jon was @ my highschool because his son had a cross country meet. and my friend, brody, who is a known liar, came over to me and was like, "jon bon jovi is over there. keep it quiet though." so i ignored him, ignored where he was pointing, and went to join my other friend watching the meet because her sister was running (this was actually a middle school event buy my school is K-12). and we're sitting on the bleachers, i'm thinking about what brody said, thinking, "man, wouldn't it be cool if jon bon jovi was here?" then my other friends little brother kicked a soccer ball and almost hit... this guy with dark sunglasses, a baseball cap pulled over his face, and an amazing smile. this guy was leaning on the fence around the running area, with his arm around his wife (which was very sweet by the way). and so i thought, "no. no way. no no no no." but i go up to the couple, lean on the fence next to this guy, and start talking about the race, the (yes, i admit) weather, and this man is becoming pretty friendly, so i lean closer and whisper, "are you jon bon jovi?" his wife says, "no. no he is not." he smiles. i say, "yes you are."
jon: well then why did you ask?
me: because i'm polite.
jon: well. here i am.
we talked about the music business, and he gave me advice on my music and my band. i was then like, "would it trouble you too much if i asked for an autograph?" and he was all, "oh no way, sure!" so he writes a little note and ends it with GOOD LUCK TO DAHLiA!, Jon Bon Jovi. then he said possibly the coolest thing i've ever heard in my life.
"great things come from jersey- i hope you can be one of them." *big amazing smile*
then eventually all the parents found out he was there and began stalking him and he had to go hide in his car. nice car, i must say. it was sad though- he was sitting in the front seat, seat all the way back, jacket collar popped up to hide his face, and sunglasses and the hat. he saw me from the car as i was leaving and he saluted me. wow.
but my.... issue?... is that ever since that afternoon, i cannot stop listening to bon jovi, reading any books about bon jovi, thinking about things that I COULD HAVE ASKED HIM OR TALKED ABOUT, things that i COULD have said... i mean, i'm from jersey; i grew up on a healthy diet of bon jovi and springsteen. but now i can't even listen to bon jovi the same way. it's just weird... and now i'm even more of a fan i guess, cause he's a nice, very sweet guy. but i thought it might be in my best interest to join a board of fellow fans to save me from going completely bon jov-crazed.
