High Heels
 

Aaaaaaaagggggh! Come on then, everyone own up. Who here wears high heels? They should be banned on a permanent basis! I went out last night for my birthday drinks, and having only been out for a hour or two, some lovely drunken lady decided to clatter into me and stamp on my foot with her high heels. I havent been able to walk since. I spoke to somebody at NHS Direct on the telephone who, when told of the exact details of my injury, advised me to go to the hospital as she said my symptoms sounded like I had broken at least one of my metatarsal bones in my left foot.

I went to the hospital today and had two xrays, and thankfully, theyre not broken, but I've bruised the bone of my third and fifth metatarsals. The pain has eased slightly, but I still cant walk and I've been advised to take it easy for three weeks. So yes, I am fine...but I stand by my decision that the world would be a better place without damn high heels!

I don't wear high heels. Can't stand them, really. My feet are too delicate.

I tried high heels a couple of times as a teenager - fuggedaboudit :D They caused my feet too much pain - let alone someone elses feet LOL. I don't have the sort of job that requires that sort of uncomfortable dress fortunately - high heels on a construction site are not practical.

Not to mention that I live near NYC. The city is made for walking and nobody walks far in high heels. Remember the day we spent in the city Kev? We walked miles that day. Can you imagine doing that in uncomfortable shoes?
