Trying to get a point across....

When mods are trying to get a point across or make a point is it really appropriate to use the language thats in certain threads?

no and when kev edits my posts to make me look a prik ie questions thread it really is sad

Words are just words, doesn't matter if someone uses words that are generally thought as 'bad', they are still only words. Someone reading them and being shocked is the one with the problem.

Mods are people too!!

Seriously, sometimes it just can't be helped.

Well, Kev really doesn't have to make you look like a prik, you really do that all on your own which is besides the point but necessary to point out regardless.

If used in context of an insult they can make it seem 'stronger', so something like "You are an idiot" isn't as 'strong' as "You are a ****ing idiot" etc but either way its an insult. In other situations it can just be someone being a bit angry, like instead of "I'm having a bad day" it becomes "I'm having a ****ing shit day" and somehow the latter is seen as 'bad' language, despite being just words.

I think that as long as you are not calling someone a curse word on here, all is well in the world.

It is all in your imagination. Nobody is editing your posts. Just deleting them, if you are insulting other members of the board. Its a pretty simple concept to grasp if you think about it. Accept responsibility for your childish actions. You might as well get used to the removal of your posts happening alot. We can sit here all day long and talk about freedom of speech, but when you are insulting other peoples looks or calling them names, then the mod and admin team will use their discretion to delete any posts which have insulting words or phrases.

What you don't seem to understand is that the mod-team are here to make the board a BETTER place, not worse. We're here to keep the majority of the board happy, and when you go around slagging other users off, then we must take action. If you want to slag someone off, email them or use MSN. If you continue to use the board as you main place to get your kicks then fine, but be warned, your posts will not last long.

For some reason, you seem to think that we are 'picking on you' because we delete your posts. If Mousebounce or I, called you a 'prick', you would be very upset and angry and start demanding these posts to be removed. It's the same the other way around. When you insult somebody, it sometimes hurts the other persons feelings. Nobody wants to see this. Mongoose was right, you need to grow up and fast. If you used this language in the real world, you will get hurt. I've told you that many of times. It's time for you to sit back and realise what a childish immature boy you are.

Remember, The Admin installed The Moderator Team to ensure that the board 'continues' to be a user friendly community. JoviTalk is a multi-national message board with over six thousand registered members. Our job is to maintain, edit and delete user’s posts/comments to ensure they contain no offensive language and retain cultural sensitivity whilst keeping a high degree of free speech.

Does anybody else have any further questions or issues they would like to raise? We will happy to answer any concerns. :)

Yes, you are imagining that I have edited your post. Can you prove that I edited you post? Nope. If have told you many of times that I will delete your posts, so why would we lie about this? The moderator team have no reason whatsoever to lie to you about this.

*Sighs* I do call you a prick? Okay, this is getting very childish again here, but if you could kindly show me a post where I have called you a prick, I will gladly apologise to you. Please post a link, to where this is the case.

Words are 'only' words, correct, however when it is uncalled for, You get warnings. Insulting other people for NO reason, is immature and you need to take responsibility for your actions. Is this particularly hard to understand?

If anybody else here thinks we are being harsh on gaz, please stand up and put your points across.

Thank You.
