TheseDays is their ONLY consistent good album! :s!?

Okok..this may start a few arguements but hey!
These days is SUCH an album..my fav rock album of all time..the thing being that EVERY one of the songs are brilliant..and the title track..well i shoodnt have to try convince y'all wot a brilliant piece of work that is!
This album is commonly seen as the guys more 'serious' work..all songs are incredibly well written and, 4 a change, address issues like faith and religion insted of the usual moaning about being in love etc
Something to beleive in is just amazing...lovely richie vocals in the back 2..Hey god is powerful..something4the pain and all i want is everthing serious and thoughtful.. U just have to look at Crush...this is just a comercial record aimed at thoses who buy records coz ''theyr quite catchy'', more than half the songs on it are poor 4 Bon Jovis standards..Just older i think is one of the few songs that stand out on this record as songs such as One wild nite are nothing more than a 'catchy tune'!
Back to my argument then..Even a top album like Keep the faith has its lows in songs like 'woman in love' 'sleep..' and 'fear'.. and as for bounce, 'joey, all about loving u,u had me from hello, open all nite'... i doubt are anyones favourite songs!
I hope im not gona start world War III here..but in Bon Jovi i think it is clear that itz Jon's side of things that favour the 'pop' side..sure he CAN write good songs (blaze album demonstartes this) but we can only have so much catchy pop songs about love, girlfriends etc where we can predict the next lines..eg. 'lie' rhyming with 'die' or 'cry' etc. Just look at Richie albums... FAR better lyrically than anything from Crush or Bounce.
Sure Jon is a great showman..he can certainly entertain a crowd but i dont see him as a great songwriter..either that or he doesnt show his abililty like he shood i.e Thesedays style!

wow..this was turing into an essay! id love to hear ppls thots..wether itz a slap round the head or a pat on the back i dont mind!

keep the faith

Sorry, but I have a totally different opinion. These Days is their most boring album with only one or two rock songs and way too many slow songs and ballads. I really rarely listen to it. Some songs on it are good but as an album it's way too slow.

While I agree that These Days is a brilliant album - very accomplished with all members getting to shine through & show their talents, I also feel KTF is such an album. Maybe not as smooth as These Days (if u know what I mean), but I love every song & Fear is one of my favourite BJ songs - the message it bestows is powerful & true & the Bass line is cool.

i think these days is consistantly generaly good..but it dont have any standout tracks barring these days...i agree with sambo-chris about the pace of the record, but it is a great record...im not sure about all of crush being 'catchy'...mystery train is one of the best songs on crush and i would hardly ever call it catchy...same with 2 story town and a few others. crush is an awesome feel good album, and that is wot its meant to be, whilst these days is somethign loads darker and deeper...i think comparing those two albums are crazy cos they are total oppsites...

I agree, These Days is the best!!!

A very memorable album indeed.

I loved Crush too, but you know, I think the band wrote very little of it...I'm suspicous because of the lack of songwriter credits...

This is also based on the dreadful Bounce...I don't think the guys in BJ wrote such great songs from Crush such as Capt. Crash and Just Older.

Did I mention that Bounce is the pits?????????????

These days does rock royally, with the exception of Hearts Breaking even!

BUT!

I agree with the suspiciousness of the lack of songwriting credits on Crush!

Ooh, this album brings me back memories everytime I listen to it. I listen to it rarely and when I do, I usually sit in the dark with no lights, only candles are allowed, and just enjoy the songs. This way I feel more relaxed.

These Days is best in my opinion as well, but not the only great album. The only Bon Jovi song I ever skip is She's A Mystery. You can't blame the pop on Jon, because Jon wrote MOST of the lyrics on the These Days album. He can write many different styles, and I disagree about Richie's albums having BETTER lyrics. They are just DIFFERENT lyrics. Better is all in the opinion of the listener.

Totally agree...These Days is the best album the guys have done. I think that this is where they peaked. Jon's voice is awesome on it and the lyrics and music are second to none. I was so looking forward to Crush and to me it was such a disappointment (there are probably on four good tracks on there)
Saying that.....I love bounce too (not as much as TD or KTF) but it has some great songs on it!!
Just my opinion!! :D

These Days is good, but it does have some poor tracks, such as Diamond Ring, and As My guitar. I think their best album is easily New Jersey as it has about 5 or 6 songs which i would label as outstanding pieces of work. These Days is consistent but i do not think there is one outstanding song on the alblum, whereas every other bon jovi album has at least one.
