My 2007

Some people on the board already know and have been so kind as to keep really quiet about it. But since by now everyone who should know does know I'm free to post it here :)

Next July I'm getting married and moving to Barcelona (I currently live in Madrid). It's such a mixture of feelings: happiness, nervousness, excitement, some uncertainty... But happiness is the main feeling :D

That's the reason why a few weeks ago I said I couldn't quit my job - I need the money and it's not worth it to switch jobs at this stage.

Once in Barcelona I'll have to learn Catalan, which is as widely spoken - if not more - as Spanish is. I'll have to look for a job too, which hopefully will be more satisfying than my current one.

The coming months are going to be quite stressful and full of stuff - I have so many things to get done. And even though I wave it away when someone else says it, 7 months are truly nothing and will go by extremely fast with so much to be done.

I've been 'engaged' since last summer but my family only found out about it a couple of days ago. New Year's Eve and New Year's Day have been a bit too much on comments and questions. My parents are quite happy, except that I'm the 'little girl' of the family and the last to move out, not to mention that I'm going about 600km away from them.

So there, the secret's out :)

It's fantastic news! I hope you find that better job you're looking for and knowing that you're leaving this one can only make it more bearable! :D

Thank you! :)

Becky - I've been telling that to myself. It's becoming more believable as time goes by, especially now that my boss knows, even though we haven't talked much about it yet. I can't wait to close the door for the last time :D

It sounds like news that will make a very happy New Year - congratulations. Yes it's daunting changing everything but - that's what kids are supposed to do :D. No parent really wants their kids hanging around home without a real life of their own. So while your family might be sad that you will be further away than they would like - I'm sure that they are very happy for you too.

Enjoy yourself during this transition time. When things get bad at your job you can always whisper to yourself - only a few months to go :)
