Mystery Train

Hey guys,

I don't know whether it's been talked about here. But I'd like to know what does Kansas mean in that chorus line in Mystery Train. I didn't quite get that. Is it some super quite place or what? ;DDD I mean, why Kansas, you know.... Although I always thought the lyrics are misheard....
thanx

"We're not in Kansas anymore" is a famous line from the Wizard Of Oz. It basically means to go some place completely unknown and strange.

Yep, Dorothy was from Kansas in the story the Wizard Of Oz. I adore the song Mystery Train. Definitely one of my favorites from Crush.

Just for more clarification - Kansas was where the girl Dorothy was from - a very dusty old farm in the movie. After a tornado, Dorothy winds up in a different place (and the movie goes from black and white into color). She makes the comment to her dog "Toto, I've a feeling we're not in Kansas anymore" Basically a magical place.

Keep in mind that an 18 year old from Slovakia might not have the same background as you do.

I love that Mystery Train and I Believe reference The Wizard of Oz because it's one of my favorite movies ever.
