Bad news for the Fast Lane & Asbury Park
 

The text below was just posted over on Greasy Lake. The last time I went by the Fast Lane was in November with Matt. It had been repainted or more accurately whitewashed and the name was missing. This past summer it still looked as it always had - albeit rather shabby. Apparantly developers are buying up all of downtown Asbury Park and bulldozing historical places rather than fix them up. There is much more money in condos <sigh> If you feel moved to sign the petition - please do.

Anyone who has ever been to the Wonder bar, or hopes to go there someday should sign this petition. The Wonder Bar, The Fast Lane and the Baronet Theatre were just bought out by Asbury Partners. This group is the one trying to redevelop Asbury Park. Unfortunately, their idea of making Asbury a better place is tearing down all the venues that make Asbury, Asbury in order to make room for more condos.
