Combining what I know about your taste in music, a quick look at your facebook profile and the fact that you just wrote that ridiculous sentence makes me think that you're one of the "almost american" guys from Family Guy.

I've been hearing She's So Mean on the radio once or twice a day lately. It's not on the local Top 40 station (at least I don't think so, rarely listen to that channel, it's cluttered with hip hop and the likes), but rather on the local Pop-Rock/AC station (they advertise themselves as 90's, 2K, and today). Every time I hear it, the song gets better. That is ALWAYS a good sign.

It's climbing up the charts, at 58 on the US Hot 100.

I also stumbled upon these gems on YouTube. An acoustic set and QandA with Rob and Kyle. They still sound as awesome as they ever have. Plus, Rob is on guitar, pretty neat.

Another new track,
Q&A

Overjoyed sounds really good, but I'm kinda hesitant to make any judgment until I hear the studio version. But this acoustic version is pretty nice. Perhaps it's the second single?

18th September - Shepherds Bush Empire....

Only problem is tickets went on general sale at 9.00am this morning, and were gone by 9.04.
Gutted!!!

Overjoyed sounds fantastic, if this were most bands you would say that the studio version would probably just be a more polished version of that with a piano etc. but with MB20's record of doing very interesting and different acoustic versions of songs you can't be too sure. Hopefully it's pretty similar to that live version because that was fantastic. Lovely lyrics, pretty tender song.

This lyrics site has the song lengths (something I've not seen on Amazon or iTunes). At first I thought they were probably just made up but Overjoyed is the exact same length as the youtube clip. How would they know the songlengths?

Peterson 08-17-2012 03:38 PM

Just listened to Overjoyed.... WOW! I love it! Can't wait to hear the album version now!

I can remember when I first saw the North tracklisting, for some reason Overjoyed stood out and I had a feeling it'd be a great song! I was right!

sweetmisery 08-18-2012 08:48 AM

There seems to be 3 different version of Import Edition at Amazon. Anyone knows the difference?

Just buy the version with the most songs on. One version has 15, one has 14 and the other has 12.

Price difference is too high. Regular is $9.99. Next is 27.60, for 2 additional songs. lol. Ill just get the extra two at iTunes if its available.

That's weird. The Amazon deluxe version I bought has 15 songs and it's £9. The iTunes deluxe version only has 14 songs and was £10.

Great competition for our American brethren.

TwinFan 08-20-2012 10:10 PM

My lord, She's So Mean is so damn catchy. It's slowly growing into one of my favorite songs by them.

TwinFan 08-25-2012 06:19 AM

More acoustic performances.

Peterson 08-26-2012 12:24 AM

Still absolutely love Overjoyed. And She's So Mean sounds just as goos acoustic as it does normally!

Should have the album this time next week!!

Esther 08-26-2012 01:02 AM

Thanks for the links to the youtube video's.

I was going to grab this at the store or itunes, but thinking I should order one of the imports instead.

Nige 08-27-2012 09:36 PM

You can hear the album version of Overjoyed here...

It's on Youtube, too. It's decent, but it's by no means fantastic. In my opinion, at least.

Agreed. A normal popsong. Nothing spectacular in my opinion.

I salute you,
TS

The entire album is streaming on iTunes. Listening now.

Cheers :D :D

Peterson 08-29-2012 12:40 AM

I loved it, very different sound for them IMO. But all of their albums have quite a different sound from eachother.

Tried to record the stream, but it was sounding awful so gave up. Might just wait until the CD drops trhu my door now, been looking forward to it for ages now, so a few more days won't hurt too much.

TwinFan 08-29-2012 02:12 AM

Just started listening. Only on the first song, but Parade is pretty awesome. Perfect single material.

ETA: Put Your Hands Up was pure garbage. :(

ETA2: Don't have time now to give it a proper listen through, but from the skimming I did, I'm not too thrilled, to be honest. Loved Parade, and She's So Mean of course, but the rest may take a while to get into. I hope.

samboraisgodUK 08-29-2012 05:40 PM

Can't get this to play at all. I'm in Singapore but have tried through both US and UK iTunes and no joy. Can get the page but just won't stream. help anyone?

Peterson 08-29-2012 10:09 PM

Just downloaded the album, couldn't resist lol.

Also got an email to say my CD was posted this morning ;)

Captain_jovi 08-29-2012 10:47 PM

I'm trying to listen in order but I get to Put Your Hands Up and I just want to punch a wall. If I can get past that hurdle I may enjoy it. I really liked English Town and that Radio song.

powernoize 08-30-2012 04:45 AM

it appears the Japanese cd release will have a total of 16 tracks...2 more non-album tracks added on (Help Me Through This, I Don't Wanna Be Loved)...release date 9/26

http://www.barks.jp/news/?id=1000082728

samboraisgodUK 08-30-2012 05:55 AM

so Parade is awesome.

Why the hate for Put Your Hands up? It's not the best, I agree, it's not lyrically as deep, or as hauntingly beautiful as many MB20 songs. But it's fun.

Is it Kyle singing 'The Way'?

wow, so with the addition of 'Waiting On a Train' on the CD I've ordered it's a 17 song album. Assuming the two Japanese tracks appear online which I'm sure they will relatively soon.

It's not out until 3rd september, but play.com post cd's etc so that they arrive on or before release date.

Downloaded the album leak last night, so been listening to it most of the day ;)

Love it, roll on the tour!!!!!

samboraisgodUK 08-31-2012 10:16 AM

Interesting album. Not what I was expecting, much more of a modern feel to it, especially in the guitar work (A lot of it reminds me of an upcoming Northern Irish band General Fiasco, if anyone knows them). Honestly, not as good as I was expecting, but then again I was expecting it to be the best thing on the face of the earth ever. Still very good though. Plus, there's 5 bonus tracks still to come too, they might be amazing.

I love it, knew it would be quite a different sounding album after hearing She's So Mean. Fair enough there are a couple of throwaway tracks, but even they are still decent enough.

Love Radio, Parade, English Town and Overjoyed. Can't wait to hear the bonus tracks now!

Irishshin 08-31-2012 11:49 PM

Out in Ireland today!

She's So Mean, still love it, need to listen to the rest of the album a bit more
Overjoyed is really great too.

Peterson 09-01-2012 01:45 PM

My copy came through the door today, just listened to the 3 bonus tracks on it,

I believe in everything,
Straight for this life
Waiting on a train

All seem to be decent songs, don't know why they didn't just include them on the album in the first place!

Haven't heard Waiting On A Train yet...but I Believe In Everything is better than quite a few tracks on the main album. Craziness!
