Jon says the record is "doneish" and that he gets neurotic about new releases. He also said it started out as "art" but turned into something bigger. He said, "he thinks" it's coming out but he did not mention when. And lastly, that there would be "no real" touring this year. deb |
I actually think it's pretty funny in the WMMR interview when they start playing Thank You For Loving Me (I guess that was the wedding song by one of the radio folks that got married) and Jon says, "turn it off" lol!

On the plus side, he's in great spirits these days, I just wish he was more excited about the future of the band, music wise. Thanks for sharing! |
I think he was out to promote the Soul team. That is the whole purpose of this round of promos. I think the reason he didn't want to talk so much about the music is he is not on the promo junket for that at this stage. We don't know what goes on with he PTB. He may be waiting for final clarification. He may not know all details yet so doesn't want to talk till its set.
I think the get TYFLM off thing was more a Jesus christ don't subject us to this kind of thing. Not deadly serious about it. I mean to listen to your own music on radio and esp a ballad like that well it would be a form of torture for him. Kat |
Thank you!
I don't really see that as disheartening. This Left Feels Right was "art" so probably a good thing this turned into something biger! Nah, I jest, I actually really like TLFR although I couldn't tell you the last time I listened to it. I would guess what he means by that is that it's alot less country then he envisioned it being, which for me is something to be optimistic about. No touring is not a surprise but "no real" tour gives the impression that there may be several one off shows which would be nice. I don't know what to make of the "doneish" and "he thinks it's coming out". What like it might not get released? I just hope with a GH coming out for Christmas it doesn't get delayed because I'd like to see more then one single being released and for goodness sake if this album is about art and sales aren't paramount then don't go releasing commerical fluff like "I love this town" and give us some art like "Make a Memory". |
No I completely understand he was there to talk about football, I get that, I'm cool with that. He has other projects, more power to him. But to be so hesitant about the next project and to quickly change the subject back to football, something about it just doesn't sit right with me.
