Jon fish breathing singing
Hello,
I wasnt well over the weekend, so I laid on the couch and watched some BJ dvds for the first time in ages. I must have watch the start of when Jon has chosen to do fish breathing technique. He looks like a gapping fish... I am presuming it is to attempt to get more air into his lungs so he can produce better vocals... Weird though as I dont see other singers doing this. It is very noticable in TLFR DVD, in the Borgata show he is fish gapping a lot , if you watch the bonus aol sessions included in dvd he is hardly doing this at all, but his singing sounds the same to me. If you are a singer and behave like a fish let us know why ..... Dawn |
Dawn, could it be just when he's having trouble breathing through his nose like when his allergies are acting up, or he has a cold or something???

I think I know what you are talking about but I don't think he looks like a fish, lol! It's just very exaggerated.

Apparently I haven't tell me what vids you were watching, I'll put one in and see if I can see what you are.

ROFL!
I think I know what you're talking about... can you please write an exact song where he does that, so we can be sure? If it is what I think - I don't think its a breathing etchnique - I think it's just somthing he does... notice he does that open mputh thing when he is very intouch with the whole song and moved ny the lyrics... |
He does it quite noticeably during 'Say It Isn't So' on the Crush Tour vid/DVD - there was a discussion about it a little while ago.

Ok petition time stop the fish mouth movement !!!!!!!!!!! Dawn |
I'm not sure what you mean but it reminds me a lot of Billy Idol's upper lip. That was just for show...
|
Any of you know why he covers his teeth up with his lips when he sings now? Is that what you are talking about? Does this stop his mouth from getting dry or something? What is that for?
