Lost Highways Used In A Movie

According to a girl on backstage that went to see the new flick, Wild Hogs, (stars John Travolota, William H. Macy and Martin Lawrence) at the end of the movie when the credits are rolling Lost Highway(s) (still not sure if it's plural or not) is playing.

The movie is released nationally (she saw a sneak preview) on March 2nd. Oh also Wanted plays during the movie as well.

Damn! I want to go see it REALLY bad now!

Captain_jovi 02-25-2007 11:07 AM

OH. Hmmm. Methinks I should see this movie.

Butters 02-25-2007 01:08 PM

Unfortunately it's not released internationally until mid April at which stage the song will have been released but hopefully somebody in America records it and puts it on YouTube.

Jovisis 02-25-2007 01:37 PM

I did a search and found this--but not really very helpful to answer our questions about the songs.

http://wildhogs.movies.go.com/

Javier 02-25-2007 03:32 PM

I don't really want to go see a movie just to stay at the end credits and listen to a song.
But curiosity is killing me.
At least it seems like an entertaining film. (one can only hope.)
It's releasd on march 8 here.

Javier 02-25-2007 03:35 PM

BTW, it also stars Tim Allen in addition to those already mentioned.

Yep, I missed him. Thanks for that. I'm with you, I don't want to go see a movie, I'd otherwise wait and rent, but I'm dying to hear the song. I know, I'm very sad!

Okay-with helpful words how to use this movie link our questions are answered.

http://wildhogs.movies.go.com/

go to this side-open "About the film" and than to "Production notes" you will see a PDF File you can download and on page 10 this is written:

'Lost Highway'
written by Jon Bon jovi, Richie Sambora and John Shanks
performed by Bon Jovi

JoviForever 02-25-2007 04:39 PM

To me this is an indication that maybe the song is no longer on the album.

I reckon this song will be dropped from the new album, since it is in a movie. It will be probably a soundtrack a la Real Life.

Captain Walrus 02-25-2007 06:03 PM

I don't think they'll drop the title track

Jovisis 02-25-2007 06:39 PM

Jepp--that is also what came to my mind.
Maybe it is really the truth what I found some time ago--at this moment I don't know where it was-that the albumname will be "Nashville series" and will comes out May 15th.

SamboraQueen21 02-25-2007 06:47 PM

Intriguing.....

Captain_jovi 02-25-2007 07:27 PM

Well. I know what I'M doing this friday. Now to not look like an idiot when I tell my friends I'm staying for the credits.

This is kind of an interesting move for the boys. Just slipping in a song like that.

EDIT: I've looked into the chances of their being an official soundtrack for the movie. No dice. If it comes down to it, I'm going to see it on Friday and just bring a tape recorder (Audio, obviously. I love the band but not enough to serve jail time, heh) and find a way to get it out to you all.

I was in london at the HRC when jon made us listen to the song he said that's the title track but since then this was never officially confirmed ...
from dave's post it seems the song is out of the cd and so will probably be the title of the cd itself

I heard the song it was a rock one i think jon brought that in london to make us be assured the cd was not too country ...now ... I don't know what will happen .. there is NOT MUCH OFFICIAL INFO anywhere

It's nothing offical, but maybe you read it here:

http://www.exlibris.ch/default.aspx?...na=ex_products

(it's called Nashville sessions)

How do you know from Dave's post that the song isn't included? Did I miss something?

The two aren't related at all. It's not like they're calling the album "Wild hogs". My gut is telling me LH didn't make the album and they gave it to the movie intead. What really puzzles me is the lack of promotion behind it, this should be a much bigger deal. It's obvious it's not the lead off single from the soundtrack, I just don't see the point in doing this at all.

Dawn 02-25-2007 11:43 PM

here are U2 singing a song called lost highway, sounds rather country to.

Becky 02-25-2007 11:43 PM

Maybe they'll get an Oscar nod for "best original song."

It looks like a good movie and I'll definitely go see it now. It wouldn't be the first time I went to a movie just to hear a Bon Jovi song. I did the same for The Cowboy Way and Young Guns II and EdTV.

This will be available on a DVD relatively soon:

Amazon Amazon
Assuming the credit music stayed with the dvd release it will be easy to rip the audio from the dvd.

Yup - me too. I got lucky with Ed TV - my son bought it because he wanted the movie. I instantly ripped the audio and video of Real Life from it and didn't actually have to purchase it. See - there are good reasons to have kids LOL.

I just want to say thanks Captain Jovi if you are able to do this for us here on the board. I'm very excited to hear the song personally.

Also, regarding the impending DVD release, Amazon always has lots of info up for movies coming to theaters. As far as I could tell, there is no official release date for the movie on DVD as of yet. Compaines usually wait to see what kind of money they bring in opening weekend before deciding on a release date for the DVD. Bigger opening weekend=longer stay in theaters.

So it seems that in order to hear the song now it would be best to do what Captain suggested. By the time the movie's out on DVD I bet the album will be out as well.

Yea, I think she got the theater release date mixed up there. I was wondering the same thing. LOL

So here's what we'll do. We get everyone in the world to boycott the film, so it'll be on dvd sooner! Okay? Who's with me??

No one? Fine fine. I'll do my best to get a (crappy) recording of it this weekend, I'll figure something out. I'll probably just use one of those handheld tape recorders or something, I don't want to go all out for 3 minutes of audio. I'll keep you all posted.
