As my guitar lies bleeding

Well, the question is...
What is this song about?
i've been listenin to that song since as long as i can remember, its obviously about someone crackin about to blow, you can feel he's gonna kill someone as soon as he's done singin'...

The other day i sort of got that doubt that it could be some other damned love song(i got so irritated), right when the lyrics go like...
''life is feelin' kinda strange since you went away...i sing this song to you wherever you are''

then he says ''life is feelin kinda strange strange enough these days, i send this song to you WHOever you are''

So in the first part its obvious he's talkin about someone who left him, ok fine, but thats like a small part of the story, the song is about something bigger something on another level, its like he mensionned the ''went away'' thing to pass by, like he's talkin about some accumulation of shit...time and time.

So what do you guys think?

Just to menssion something, i think that song is the best ever written by any musician, lyrically musically no one could do better.

How much I love this song!

The sadness in the first part - the anger in last part.
IMO it's simply about someone who is depressive is some sorta way (everybody's been there I geuss), feeling good about nothing...

I always thought when he sang "I sing this song to you, wherever you are" and there "I sing this song to you, whoever you are", it's not to the person in question the song is about, rather to the people listening to the album/the fans/whomever. Like him saying "I'm down, this is what happened, Im telling you this whoever this is listening to the album" etc. At least that's how I pictured it.

Yes, I allso see it as if Jons speaking with me when I listen to it...

Its one hell of a song, couldn be better.

Interesting idea ... I've always took it in the literal sense, but I have to say that this board is good for opening my mind a bit ... especially you Matt :D I think, as I do, you probably think far more than you should about this stuff

To the original poster, I think it's more likely he's going to kill himself rather than someone else ... "I'd like to jump, but I'm afraid to hit the ground"

I read somewhere that it was a song about writers block...Jons fear of running out of things to write and not been able to write anymore songs...if you keep that in mind while listening to it,it seems to make sense...

I personally think it's something more than that. I mean that's certainly part of it but I don't think not being able to write the perfect song will drive one to leaping out the window, you know?

I think he's talking to himself. Sometime when you're in a state of depression you feel like you've lost touch with your own identity, who you think you should be, who you remember being, who you want to be again.
