Born To Be My Baby Acoustic

I got a mp3 with this song, an acoustic version, but I'm not sure when it was recorded. It's only Jon & Richie playing. It's two guitars with an overdubbed guitarsolo, also acoustic and a harmonica outrosolo.
It's a great version, in fact, it was this version that made me like the song, never cared to much for it before.
It sounds like it's from the early 90's, maybe late 80's.

Any ideas out there?

The song was released on the Living In Sin maxi single and on the New Jersey Japan 2CD Remasters. It doesn't list from what date it was though. I think it was recorded during the New Jersey era because it was released on that Living In Sin maxi single.
Love that version too, played with much passion and emotion.

yeah, id assume it was recorded in some free studio time during the NJ album recording. You can tell from how strong and raw jons vocals are that its from that period.

Thank you! I agree 'bout the NJ era, just wasn't sure.

I'd say NJ era would be spot on. Maybe around the time they did Prayer/Wanted at the VMA's.

Maybe. Living in Sin-single was released in November 1989. Or then they recorded it while making New Jersey. You can see on BTBMB-video Jon and Richie playing it with acoustic guitars.

I got my version of that song from the Living in Sin CD Single, with Love is War on it. The copyright for the acoustic version is 1988.

If I recall correctly, hasn't Jon said the song was originally written as an acoustic song, and was changed (for the better IMHO) by Bruce Fairburn to, in Jon's words "give it the Livin' on a Prayer treatment" ?

I haven't read that interview, but it sounds about right.
Though most of BJ's stuff is written accoustically isn't it?

This is from WIKI, but I did read it in a guidebook to every billboard #1 hit, on either the "Medicine", or "I'll Be.." entry page.

The song was originally recorded acoustically, with just two acoustic guitars and a harmonica in the outro. However under Bruce Fairbairn's influence, it was re-recorded in the form found on the album. Jon Bon Jovi once said that he believed the song would have made number 1 on the charts if released in its original form; instead he alleges that Fairbairn was trying to create another Livin' on a Prayer.
