An Evening with Bon Jovi...
How do you rate this performance alongside other DVDs??? I actually think its one of the best they did. The versions or Bed of roses and Prayer are pretty much faultless. Its prob the one I watch most after Live in London.

I think it certainly has it's moments of greatness. Prayer is great, I LOVED hearing Little bit of soul live.

It's been so long since I've watched it because I never watch videos anymore so I can't really comment but I do remember Jon sounding incredible, and wearing a ridiculous amount of make-up.
Is this show out there on an official DVD release or should I be tracking down a bootleg dvd? |
It's not officially available on dvd.
Though they really need to take the Def Leppard route on this one and re-release the concert on dvd alongside the videos from the album. |
It was released on Laserdisc in Japan and there are some great transfers to DVD out there. I think this concert is almost perfect - it's one of my favorites and I watch it every few years - just to remind myself how good they can be.
If I have friends who make fun of Bon Jovi as an 80's hairband - this is what I show them to convince them otherwise and most people are blown away. Kathleen |
Jons vocal on two of the covers is outstanding - With a little help from my friends is aswell as We gotta get out of here.
I never liked Richies guitar tone on the Bed Of Roses performance, but its cool to see Jon playing Piano on that one. Prayer is awesome, and KTF is ruined by all the embarassing middle-aged woman trying to shake their marraccas in time. Jons incredibly tight jeans worry me, and Richies half sitting/half standing on that stool thing looks a bit naff. But its a great performance, one of my favs. Compare this to the pretty boring VH1 Storytellers they did around the Crush release. andi |
It's a really great consert, I love the setting. Scene in the middle with the "semi"-acoustic setting. Guess it was their Unplugged versjon.
And it contains Little Bit Of Soul :D I heard Jon hate that song, it's a shame, cause it's a great song. The consert brings back great memories. I remeber the norwegian television had a interview with the bad at that time. This consert was one of the main reasons I started to love the band. Question: Does the VHS contain the whole show? Is there a DVD of the whole show? Setlist? |
