As much as i admire Jon's efforts with charity particulary, and you can compare his methods and way of handling it with Bonos, but you cant compare the work itself. Bonos work is on a global scale and potentially can impact millions of people - who cares if hes a bit of a twat with an ego.

I first read the title as "versus Bongo"! You know, "our" Bongo.

I lost any respect for Bono and his band when they took all their assets 'off-shore' so they wouldn't have to pay full tax on it.
Hypocrite dosen't even come close!

Interesting analysis. And I don't agree that acting "locally" doesn't have the same impact as doing something worldwide. The scales are just different. Jon acting locally and doing something to make housing available to the impoverished and also taking on renovating and cleaning up some of the dilapidated buildings in the bad neighborhoods has a huge impact both socially and economically in those communities.

Do you know how U2 change a lightbulb?

Bono holds the lightbulb and the earth rotate around him...:D

It's nice to see someone have something nice to say about Jon - especially somene who isn't from around Jersey. He and the band get slagged off for so much it's nice to read something positive.

I lost interest with Bono's charity work a while back. I happen to agree with the blog. Jon isn't getting recognition for his work on a global scale but at least he's seeing it benefiting those in need. I'm pleased to see that his charity work hasn't affected his music, I got a bit sick with that bull shit from Bono on their latest tour.
