american idol spoilers

My brother does light camera work for American idol and was there on Saturday when Jon filmed his portion with the contestants. He usually wont tell me what people are singing in advance because he doesnt want me to leak info but he knows I'm a Jovi fan so he told me this week.

Jordin Sparks-you give love a bad name--Jon told her to be careful not to push too hard on her vocals... screechy in places

Lakisha Jones-always--Jon really liked the soul and passion in her voice. He said it was a big accomplishment if someone can sell you on your own song and he thinks lakisha could if she concentrated.Thinks she is psyching herself out because its not in her comfort zone.

Blake Lewis-Wanted-jon was not crazy about this at all. It was a completely different arrangement with a different vibe and it reminded me of when Queen and Ace young had that disagreement last year.My brother said there could be a little mini media scandal over this one..

Chris Richardson- never say goodbye- Jon liked it overall but told Chris to be careful not to do runs just for the sake of doing runs.he writes his stuff straight without a lot of vocal gymnastics and they seem out of place at times.

melinda- In these arms.- Jons favorite.sassy the only song that didnt seem awkward with a female singing it..

Phil-I'll be there for you- very strong powerful vocals. he thought Phils range was perfect for that song.. very impressed

Interesting, thanks.

I guess that means the band will perform Prayer then (and MAM) seeing as the contestants dont seem to be doing it.

I think it's just MAM, though I would love to hear Prayeron the show. Show these kids what it's all about.

prayer is quite possibly the group song. I know Gina Glocksen had chosen prayer but she has been eliminated so perhaps the reason no one chose it

My brother knew I was going to post today.I love Jon and AI so when it came down to two of my obsessions coming together it wasnt possible for me to keep my mouth shut..LMAO. Besides his camera work is coming to an end.he was working towards semester credits and its winding down.Next week he wont be there because he has finals and top three week there are no mentors so they wont be filming the pieces on Saturdays..so he knows I was doing this today and he didnt mind.

I was wondering as you brother has an impressive memory to tell you all this ... if he can reminder if Jon was alone mentoring as Richie was announced too

What do you mean by this? Why on earth woudld there be a scandal. Did Jon loose his cool with someone or what?!

Well at least a couple of them were smart enough to get off the biggest of the biggest hits train and go with well known singles but not absolute classics

Can't figure out why Blake would do Wanted at all since Daughtry had so much success with it last season. Plus of all of the songs to rearrange and mess with why pick the one song that Jon and Richie think is as close to a "perfect" rock song as they have ever gotten?? Add to that it being one of their favorites to play.... this kid has no respect, it's one thing to make a song your own it's another to completely change a song almost as if you are telling the songwriters that you can do better than them. I guess we'll see how everbody likes it.

Holy shiat, if they actually do In These Arms in American Idol, it will be the greatest thing this season. Especially after Sanjaya is eliminated. I will be voting for whoever singing that song. Hopefully after that, ITA will be a permanent fixture in BJ setlists.
