Newark - Where do I go???

I know there's at least a few people on here familiar with Jersey. Been to East Rutherford plenty, but never been to Newark.

How far is this new arena from the nearest airport/train station/bus station? Best airfare I can find from Boston is $193. Found Amtrak for $160 roundtrip. Driving's out as I have a lease.

How about any hotels near the new arena?

Thanks!

The arena is not even finished Dan. However transportation should be easy - the Northeast Corridor and Amtrack is right across the street. If you are coming from Boston (which I think I remember) you should be able to take a train straight to the arena. I'm not too sure about places to stay close by simply because I've never used any but I can try to find out.

Kathleen, is there a station near there that gets a train in from Penn in the city? I know this might be stupid question, but I'm not all that familiar with jersey transit.

Anything from Penn Station on the Northeast Corridor will stop there. However it would probably be easier (and cheaper) to take PATH from 34th St right into Newark. One of the reasons they decided to build the new arena there is because of the easy access to all sorts of transportation.

There are no trains to Continental or Giants in E Rutherford - only buses. I believe that a rail stop is planned for the future finally when Xanadu is finished. The whole complex is a bit outdated.

Thanks.

So the PATH from 34.
Ok, this is good, cause now I can get there without a ride, since I don't drive.

There is a Gateway Hilton that is supposed to be very near the arena and the train station. Here's the link:
