What is Bon Jovi's biggest hit single?

Someone mentioned this in the "Always" thread so I figured I'd spin it off (I did a search but didn't find anything).

According to Billboard, "Always" is their biggest hit on the charts ever while I'm sure Prayer is their biggest selling single ever. Can anyone confirm that? And does anyone know which songs were their biggest hits after those 2?

if i'm not worng, it's the opposite. Prayer was their biggest radio single and always was their biggest selling single.

You're correct on the radio part. My mistake there. I have the Billboard book where they rank the biggest songs from before 2001 by chart position and Prayer is 458th while Always is 491st. The next biggest one listed related to the band, strangely enough, is "Blaze of Glory" at 741. I didn't think it would be ahead of "Bad Medicine", "I'll Be There For You" and "You Give Love A Bad Name".

Any idea where stats can be found for biggest selling singles?

I always thought 'It's My Life' was the band's biggest hit with 'Always' second. Didn't the latter spend 6 months in the top 10 stateside?

I'd say Prayer was the band's biggest hit, followed by Its My Life and Always.

Prayer was the longest #1 running song (4 weeks).

Always WAS their biggest selling single.

It's My Life IS their biggest selling single.

I've always found it interesting how "It's My Life" sold so well yet didn't chart as well as about 10-15 other songs.

And, Azza, "Always" was in the top 10 for 6 months in England and charted in the States for over 6 months but not top 10 the entire time. Although it's one of the best charting songs to not hit #1 in the States.

IML wasn't released as a single for sale, those stats were based on radio play. I believe that if it had been released as a commercial single in the states or if legal downloads were an alternative back in 200, that IML would have been a top ten hit.

Always was in the English/British Top 10 for 11 weeks only, hitting the number 2 spot twice. It sold 560500 copies, making it the biggest selling UK single. Living on a Prayer probably plays the most on UK radio
