I've been using Vista for a few weeks myself, and have found that most of the stuff I need works just fine with it. The only annoying thing I find is that whenever I want to change a filename or move a file or install/uninstall anything there is a somewhat annoying greying of the screen and then a message related to it.

We were in Milton Keynes at the weekend and there was a display showing the advantages of using vista .It looked impressive especialy with the moving wallpaper .From what i saw though the actual windows part isnt that much different is it?

Well I presume that there are improvements in regards to fixing old flaws and security issues. It does look quite different though if you use the standard Vista look. I do like the 3D tabbed windows though...

It's all a bit 'meh if I'm honest. It is nice and secure though.

Macs are more secure, and no it's not cos they aren't used by many so hackers don't bother, it's cos Apple use better security techniques, too complicated and boring to go on about here :)

I use a MacBook Pro and a Dell running Vista Ultimate, and they are as good as each other pretty much.

Bullshit. Mac is as vulnerable as Windows Vista is, only there aren't enough threats written for Mac.

I could find just as many Windows articles like that. The lack of pettiness in my personality means I won't.

I suppose I'm quik to defend Macs cos they are much harder to investigate in my job. I'm a Digital Evidence Analyst, using forensic tools etc to access data locked down by pedos, fraudsters etc. I find it much easier to get around obstacles and take a hDD image on a PC, so I get the impression Macs are more secure.

Like I said, Windows and OSx are a hairs breadth away from each other now anyways :)

Try it, its good

I did download it and I have tried it. It sure is an improvement over the old IE. However, I find it slow. I still prefer Firefox and some of the plugins are incredible.

Extensions, Kathleen, Extensions... IE has plugins.

IE 7 is okay, it's a big improvement, but not enough for me to switch. There's nothing there that hasn't been done better by other browsers.
