Richie Replaced! (for one show so far)
I just read on www.ilovebonjovi.com that the band just did a concert in Puerto Rico. Richie was replaced by Bobby Bandiera.
(the quality isn't too good) So yeah. Richie has been replaced. Still with out him apparently the crowds were still going wild and it seems as if even with out Richie the show is going to go on. I know it's wrong and I know people payed and that they have contracts but I can't help feel as if the band should have canceled and waited for Richie to get better, because like it or not he's irreplaceable. |
It doesn't sound that bad.Too bad the people of Puerto Rico didnt' get Richie. I am going to check out the rest of the clips on youtube.I am sure Bobby is quite capable but no one will ever come close to Richie. Its only temporary.Richie isn't gonna be replaced.

Secondly, I know Bobby sucks ass compared to Sambora, but you basically answered your concern. They can't just CANCEL all the shows that Richie might miss while in rehab. It's just not pragmatic, and one positive about JBJ is that he is pragmatic (most of the time). They don't have a real tour this summer, and Richie isn't going to still be in rehab by October, nevermind the '08 tour. You're looking at this very black and white. He hasn't been replaced. |
Um.
Bobby played cause Richie's in rehab. |
Bobby would have been there anyway.

As it was once said...
"The change was made uptown and Bobby Bandiera joined the band" |
you scared the living shit outta me w/ that title!

I think that the O2 crowd will take a lot more to please if Richie isn't there to be honest. Nothing against the Puerto Rico crowd but they were mostly glad Jovi were playing there at all after all these years. Richie or no Richie, they were going to have a ball and good for them.
The UK is lucky enough to have Jovi as regulars, playing multiple shows at different venues on each tour. The British public (in general) too are harder to please and given the unusually high cost of tickets compared to the stadium shows, to not have such a HUGE part of the band there may manifest itself a lot more noticeably than in Puerto Rico. I just don't think that the UK crowd will be as 'up for it' as they would if Richie was there. I can say with absolute certainty that, if Richie were not to play, it would completely wreck the concert for me. Other people may think I am placing too much emphasis on the need for his presence but, as far as I am concerned, Bon Jovi the band do NEED his presence otherwise it simply ain't Jovi IMO. |
