Honour Richie at the O2?

It looks close as to whether Richie will make the O2 gig.

If he is not there then why not honour him and have some of his idols/peers as guest guitarists.

Maybe Eric Clapton, Brian May, Jeff Beck etc. These guys have all had tough times too, just think back to Clapton losing his son.

It would certinaly make the gig a one off. I for one do not want Bobby just standing in and doing his best, for me that is not good enough.

What do you think?

Ok... He didn't die...

Yeah, I think that may be taking it a bit to far, and as far as we are aware he will be there.

If he isn't though, a guest guitarist could be the way, but we've already talked about that before.

Your having a laugh right?

And the guitarists you mentioned may know Richie, but theyr not exactly close buddies and by no means will know how to play the entire Jovi setlist.

If Richie isnt there, we can show our love by singing all his parts in Wanted.

My guess would be that Bobby is now working his way through the catalog familiarizing himself with Richies parts, PR was very short notice, he didn't get alot of time to be ready for it. If he has to do O2, I would guess he would be fully prepared by then.

Bobby played the HAND solo at every gig on the last tour...and it sounded as shit at the first gig of the entire tour as it did on the last... he cant play guitar the way Richie does at all.. different style of playing all together...its gonna be shite if Bobby is stepping in for him.... get well soon Rich!

As I said, I can bet anything that Richie takes a leave from rehab to be there, and another one for the Live earth show. Have no idea as far as the today show.

If I could put any new Bon Jovi CD on and be able to do a good solo without even having heard the tracks before, I think that some of the best guitarists that have graced this earth would be able to come up with the goods to play a whole BJ setlist.

The most laughable thing is that the guitarists mentioned would by no means associate themselves with someone like Bon Jovi nowadays. They all have connections to the band (ending 88-91 pretty much) but that's ancient history.
