If your ever going to watch one video, watch this one ('The Greatest Story Ever Told')

It may be 15-20mins long, but i assure you after the first minute you will be hooked.
I know many people are/should be familiar with some of the points highlighted already, but this video does an excellent job in presenting them all together.

What I find amazing, is not the actual facts, but the amount of people who still believe the Bible.

I'm only part-way through so far, but this is brilliant. Given information like this I don't understand how anyone can still follow these religions.

Admittedly it is a very interesting video

Meh, I was going to attempt a balanced-ish argument based on it, but I can't be bothered anymore ... that's not because I think he's hit the nail completely on the head though, but I'll admit that there may be some degree of truth to some components of his theory

What exactly is he trying to say anyway? At one point he seems to be suggesting that the Bible is deliberately and knowingly written as a big metaphor for the worship of celestial bodies; whereas at another it seems to be that the Bible plagiarises many different sources, including itself, in order to create the story of the Christ, but without the intention that its true origins ever become known

It's a good thinking point anyway

actually that was pretty good!, very convincing, but im sure youryour not as nieve to be convinced that any of that was actual "FACT",

but ill not go through all the typing ill just throw you a few pages to read,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Krishna

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Historical_Jesus

but i loved the bit about the fish, espically about the popes hat being made in shapy of a fishs mouth!!

also he seems to be suggesting bethelhem is a fake place? i dont know, interesting watching tho

i think iot also says about how it was all made up by the romans in about 300ad or something, but what about Nero, burning of rome, killing of chrisitans that sort of stuff, all historically accountable dated to about 60 AD or around then anyway

Yet you're ok that so many believe the bible itself to be fact?

to be honest what other people believe is not really my problem is it! im not them!

your ok with saying all that this video say is fact? about the fish hat and all the rest?

Thomas Anderson 06-14-2007 06:16 PM

Well OK, I think the fish hat thing was taking the piss a little, but you can't argue the historical facts that christianity is an absolute rip-off of other religions, which as the video says were all based on astrology anyway

Mr Bluesman 06-14-2007 06:28 PM

The bit about how the historians of the time of Jesus never once mentioned him was interesting. Obviously, this guy has left out a lot of facts relating to the possible existance of Christ etc, but it was still an interesting video. Thanks for posting.

yea it was very interesting but i have had an interest in myhtology since i was young, and the only thing they have in common really would be the virigin birth, and theres arguments if thats mentioned in the bible or not, as for the rest they have simply either lied, or they are just mistaken,

the 12 disciples, the cruxifition, the star, 3 wise men where nothing to do with the people they named, and with Krishnma, none of it was true, from what i can see, the virgin birth can be slightly seen in attirs and horas, but they rest im afraid isnt true

Malachy 06-14-2007 07:41 PM

i found thsi video, after watching the other one.

again its of richard dawkins and allistor McGarth, its long but really interesting, kinda the arguments you get from each side answered by the other sort of thing . I dont think may of you will have the time to watch it but here you are
