Bon Jovi Turn Down $1 Million Book Deal
15 June 2007
Bon Jovi Turn Down $1 Million Book Deal Rockers Bon Jovi have turned down a $1 million (GBP500,000) book deal - because their private lives are "no one's business". Frontman Jon Bon Jovi claims publishers were particularly interested in the stories of bandmates David Bryan and Richie Sambora who have both been through painful divorces. Sambora, who recently lost his father to lung cancer, also checked out of rehab on Wednesday. But despite the huge sum of money offered to the Livin' on a Prayer stars, the rockers are not prepared to pen a tell-all book about their life experiences. Bon Jovi says, "One of those big publishers gave us a million dollars recently to write a book about our experiences but we just gave the money right back because it's no one's business. "They wanted the cliched story about being a rock star and I'm not going to tell them. It doesn't mean it didn't happen, it just means isn't there anything more important to talk about?" Hurray!!! :D

So was this why the book that was due to be released in November was canned? or was that another book solely about the music instead?

Good for them!

Damn it!
I would have liked to read that kinda stuff. We need some juicy stories about the band; we all know the other stuff. Why did David and Richie exactly divorce? For what addiction Richie had to be treated? What did he do when he misbehaved over there? :p And of course, the stories about Jon (and others) cheating with groupies on their wifes. BJ scandals; bring them on! |

I hope that that Believe book that was being discussed a while back is still coming out ... hadn't it just been postboned rather than axed?

On the one hand I respect the guys for maintaining their privacy in this way but it would have been cool to hear the unknown stories. It may also have won them more fans amongst those who constantly slate them for being too nice. I suppose the reverse effect could cost them sales however.
