Good choices overall. Though I thought that "BIG Buddha" (sorry, I don't know the name) in south korea should have made the list...

JBJ's useless trivia: petra is where they filmed the end scenes of indiana jones 3 before they enter the temple :-)

i was supposed to be going there last year :'-(

not so good choices imo. the colloseum and the great wall (taj mahal maybe, too) surely deserve to be there, but the rest..?
i'm so disappointed that the neuschwanstein castle and the acropolis stayed out of that list.

I have promised myself a visit to Petra before I die. I read about it as a kid in Richard Halliburton's Book of Marvels and I have always wanted to see it.

i wasn't even planning on going but i told a girl i used to work with i was going to egypt and she brought in photos of when she'd been scuba diving in the red sea and gone over to petra.

I'm sooo happy about the Taj Mahal too!! It was the last to be announced, I was kinda nervous cause it really was my favourite! lol and Petra seems amazing too. Don't really agree with Chichén Itzá and the christ Redeemer but well thats only my personal opinion.
And the show they put up here in Lisbon cause of it was really nice too, when I was watching it on tv i never thought they'd make it so big.
I'm looking forward to the nature 7 wonders now :) that should be interesting!

I was happy for Chichén Itza, but personally i think that Pyramids of Giza desserved to be there more than the Christ Redeemer

the pyramids were one of the ancient 7 wonders so i'm assuming they weren't eligible...

Actually they were, u could see them in the finalists list
