I`m a Bon Jovi fan since Keep the Faith in 1992. :evil: :D

I've been a fan since 1986 when I was 15!! Saw Jon in the video of Bad Name and that was it!!! Went out and bought Bon Jovi and Farenheit and the rest as they say is history!!!!

None of my friends are BJ fans except me but my boyfriend now has no choice as I dragged him along to the last 2 concerts! Not seen them as often as I would have liked - once at Donington 1987 and 89 in Glasgow and only seen them twice since then both times on the last 2 tours but lets just say I won't be missing any more.

well, actually, i'd only heard a few bon jovi songs til one day, when i went to a wee concert at Hampden Park in Glasgow where this band from NJ started to play to 50,000 adoring fans :wink: . Just as these guys walked on stage and there was thunderous appluase, that's when i became a bon jovi fan!!

LOL, i only got that ticket the day before cos one of my friends had a spare one, so i went to this concert, right after my big 4th year exams, and had the time of my life. From that day on i am a follower of Jonny's Church of Rock n' roll :wink: and the very next day i bought my first bon jovi album - OWN live - and so it all began.

Now, just over a year later, i'm a dedicated fan, and have bought all of their albums (lol, i've bought 73 of their CDs in total all of the videos, etc) and can safely say i've drove my mum up the wall with their music (but she has no taste, she likes slipknot!!!).

Back in 2000 I heard It's My Life. It sparked some interest during the first listen. As I continued to hear it on the radio, it got better and better very quickly. On the radio station I listen to, it was #1 for about 10 weeks. I had to buy the c.d. (crush, but you already know that). I was reluctant, cause I didn't want to waste money on a one hit album, but after realizing that the album rocks and that artists put their twelve best songs or so on an album, I have come to a conclusion: Buying that c.d. was the best damn decision I ever made. It changed my world. I'm hooked, stocked up on Jovi cd's, broke, and loving every minute of it. Anticipation awaits.

Back in early 2004, when I was four, my dad often played Cross Road in his car while driving me to the kindergarten. I just became hooked for a reason I'm still somewhat unaware. Especially Prayer hit me like a heavy-weight boxer, although I couldn't understand any of the lyrics. I immediately loved Saturday Night, Always, Wanted, Bad Name and Bad Medicine as well. By August/September '04 all the BJ albums my dad owned (Cross Road, Keep The Faith, These Days, Crush and Bounce) had already found their way to my ever-growing record collection.

And then came the box set. I got it as a present from my dad...

I still remember hearing WAYD, Radio, TIB, IGAR, LMS and the demos of Saturday Night, Always and Prayer for the first time - as a five-year-old. Damn, was it a neat to hear all those gems - even back then, I knew the tracks were mostly unreleased.

My dad bought me HAND immediately after it came out in September '05. After hearing the album for the first time, my reaction was "meh" - back then I thought Who Says almost ruined the whole record - but it quickly started to grow on me and nowadays I consider it as the best post-'95 BJ album.

By the time LH came out, I was a diehard already, and then came the day I saw the boys live for the first time.

Helsinki, 16.6.2008. One of the best concerts I've ever been to, and miles better than the '11 gig (I was there, too). Although I was only eight years old back then, I swear I had an orgasm during Richie's solo on Always. I still remember singing my heart out on Prayer. Bloody hell, I miss the LH tour...

I remember being extremely frustrated about not having the opportunity of seeing the boys at the Ratina Stadium in Tampere '13 due to school-based schedule issues. However, after seeing the YouTube videos of the gig, I'm not disappointed of missing it at all, as Jon sounded absolutely horrendous there.

I think that's enough of these stories for now... I don't want you to get bored to death.

My older brother was a fan. I was hooked after hearing YGLABN.

They quickly became "my" band to the point of obsession.

I'd sit up watching the Super Bowl simply because JBJ was interviewed at a previous game. (Which in the UK might be 2am)

Or I'd tape the BJ weekend on MTV & watch it every evening, often falling asleep with it on.

Weekly scour of magazines for Jovi references & put them in a scrapbook.

(Bare in mind the Internet didn't exist at this point - you had no quick BJ fix like you do nowadays)

I took German as a language and one of our assignments was to pick a person to speak about for a few minutes. While most people chose their mum or dad, or siblings, I chose Jon Bon Jovi. I gave a 2-3 minute talk, in German, in front of my classmates. And honestly felt no embarrassment!!

I suppose all of us here (at some point) consider(ed) them to be "my" band.

Shame to see so many old posters in this old thread not around anymore.

As for me, it was Always that did it for me in 94 when I was 13. I was a bit of a chart nerd in the early 90s and I assume that's where I heard the song. I subsequently bought Crossroad on tape, even though I only vaguely had heard of some of the songs on it. I was hooked and played it on my Walkman constantly.

I then began to get the back catalogue and loved them all which began the obsession.
I then remember getting these days on tape as soon as it came out, and it was the soundtrack to my paper round every week. The subsequent gap in releases gave me more time to play catch up and turn even more obsessed buying collectibles, promos, vinyls, foreign releases, going to record fairs etc.. I remember going to an Internet cafe to watch the Crush pre release gig in 2000 at about 2 in the morning our time when the next Jovi album finally came around. In that time it was spent on newsgroups and email groups getting my fix!

Sadly Wembley 95 was a bit early for me, I'd never been to a concert at that point and it's a regret that I didn't make it my first one, although in the pre Internet days I wouldn't have even known how to get a ticket I don't doubt, the thought had never crossed my mind to try. Maybe being at the back of Wembley would have put me off, whereas instead my first gig of Richie in shepherds Bush in 98 with Jon appearing at the end was a perfect start, and now getting on for 30 gigs later, I'm still here.

They've been my no. 1 band now for 23 years and thankfully I still like the studio output and Im sure I'll continue to do so.

I can't even remember. Must have been hooked on some songs while browsing the Net and getting all thrilled looking at the old videos of them. The love is growing steadily so I don't think it's going to fade away anytime soon ;)

I listened to my brother's New Jersey tape in 1989.

I'm a pretty new fan, heard my dad's old copy of Cross Road in about 2014 and loved the songs. Discovered It's My Life a little while after that.

Then in 2015 I was listening to IML (on youtube, I didn't actually own the song at that point) when I saw a comment saying that a new album called Burning Bridges had just come out.

I thought I'd try something new by them so I listened to Teardrop to the Sea and absolutely loved it. Bought a copy of BB and SWW and then just went nuts, buying all of the other albums after that.

Teardrop is the song that actually got me into non-hit Bon Jovi songs, so that's why it's my favourite post 2000 song.
