just a wee note to markt he end of Operation Banner!! (longest british army operation in history) Nothern Ireland is now fiunally heading into peaceful hands!

they were welcomed at the start, but really did overstay their welcome!!

!

from our good friends at wikipedia:

"Between 1969 and 2001, 3,523 people were killed as a result of the Troubles.

Approximately 60% of the victims were killed by republicans, 30% by loyalists and 10% by the British, Irish and Northern Irish security forces."

Responsibility for killing

Responsible party (No.)
Republican Paramilitary Groups (2055)
Loyalist Paramilitary Groups (1020)
Security Forces (368 )
Persons unknown (80)

i'm pretty sure it's not the british army running guns, drugs and protection rackets and running around kneecapping people like common criminals in northern ireland now either but whatever makes you happy.

Malachy 08-03-2007 02:25 PM

ooo im of no dout the republican murders killed more people, as wella s loyalists,

but what ur figures dont take into account is things like bloody sunday, the falls road curfew, the massive amount of collusion between both loyalist and republican with the army that lead to deaths of many people,

thing like killing 14 innocent people in doire city, the imtimadation of the nationalist community, beatings, murders, not the sort of thing an army brought into protect the nationalist community should be doing!

but if u think they are whiter than white, go ahead!

yeah that's exactly what i said

you're making out as if the british army (who aren't even leaving btw just so you know) shutting up shop = an end to violence in ireland when it's the republicans who are responsible for over half of all deaths in the troubles and are still running around like a bunch of gangsters to this day.

you bring up attrocities committed by the british army, i'd be here all day bringing them up about the IRA but here's a few for starters:

omagh - over double the amount of deaths as bloody sunday at the hand of repiublicans. mostly women and children to boot plus hundreds injured. at a village fayre nonetheless.

enniskillen - 12 people killed at A REMEMBERANCE DAY SERVICE. top blokes those republicans are.

but it's ok now the british are limiting their involvement the place is going to turn into a crime and violence free utopia. woohoo

u always seem to think im an IRA supporter! im the futhurest thing from! i hate with a passion the way they went about thier ways, they have destroyed the name republican, they pushed back a united ireland by 36 years, they should all be locked up instead of being deputy first minister! same for the loyalists! im not a republican, ill stick to be nationalist,

but the british army also done a lot of harm to the irish people, and a lot of evidence to suggest they were there for the sake of helping loyalists than they were for protecting the nationalist people

i know there still here, a fact im pointing out to idoit republicans, but the fact trhat the majority of them are finally leaving, its a welcome sight for a lot of the nationalist community
