Hard one - Best Bon Jovi SONG you've heard live?

For me, it has to be Never Say Goodbye at Hyde Park on the Bounce tour. It was just the way Jon said "we've been playing for three hours and I'm still going" then launched into it as the perfect end to a brilliant summer tour. It was the first time I'd heard them play it, and it was brilliant. Close 2nd is I Believe in Amsterdam from the same tour, and 3rd is I'll Be There For You at Hampen for OWN, because the atmosphere was just so electric.

For shows I've been to, probably Prayer from Giants 2001.

Shows that I've seen or heard, probably Prayer from Cincinatti 1987. Hate to be unoriginal, but that was awesome. Wild Is The Wind from Maryland 1989 was pretty incredible too, though the quality I have of it sucks.

'These Days' from Hyde Park 2003 cos it looked for all the world like they were calling it a night after doing the band intros and taking their bows. I was hoping they'd play either 'Dry County' or 'These Days' and then when Dave hit the first few notes of the intro, I went nuts!!! I think a fair few peeps around me were slightly bemused but it was just an awesome experience to hear one of my all time fav tracks.

I like pretty much all of Jovi's stuff but that song and 'Dry County' have been on my live performance wishlist for years. :)

Tough one. Truly tough.

One of those truly golden moments must be "These Days" in Stockholm 1995. It was electric and emotional. "Bed Of Roses" in the same concert was also a true highlight and up until today that is the only time I have ever heard that song live.
Also, both "Wild Is The Wind" and "Homebound Train" in Stockholm 2001 come in on a shared second place.

Good Question.... It has probably got to be.... Dry County - Manchester 06'
Great song to sing live and hope to hear it again... Any Other Day sounded good at the o2 even though i wasn't there!:(

Of the few shows I've been to, it's "Someday I'lll Be Saturday Night" from Giants in '03. It was just that moment of hearing your favorite song live for the first time, it was pure awesome.

Blood on Blood. 12/12/05

Here’s the story.

BOB is my all time favorite Bon Jovi song. Prior to Dec. 12, 2005 I had never heard Blood on Blood live in the thirteen years I had been a fan or the six shows I had gone to on various tours. I had the actual setlist from three shows on the Bounce tour I attended and Blood on Blood was on all three of them as an audible but they never played it. It was always played either at the show before mine or the show right after mine, but never at my concert. I really thought I was never going to hear that song live. But for the HAND tour I had front row tickets and I decided the night before the show to make a sign requesting BOB. It was 12 days before Xmas so I made this huge sign red and green sign that read “Dear Jon, It’s Almost Xmas I’ve Been A Very Good Girl – Please Play Blood on Blood”. I figured I would just hang it over the barricade where Jon would be sure to see it but when I got to Albany they told me no signs allowed and wouldn't let me take it in. Now I was so determined to sneak it in but it was a huge poster and there was no way I could get it in. I did manage to bring in two really small signs for Richie but that was it. So I’m thinking there goes my chance, I’ll never get to hear BOB. They hadn’t played it at any of the shows on the HAND tour thus far and this was I believe the 20th or 21st show of the tour. What would make them play it that night? Nothing I thought. I was a little bummed. But I had front row, I was literally smack in front of JBJ and was having an amazing time. The band was on fire. I tried to forget about not being able to bring my sign in although I just had this feeling that if Jon would have read it they would have played it that night.

So towards the end of the concert we caught a glimpse David's setlist on the big screen and Blood on Blood was listed as an audible again. I had to think fast, so i asked everyone around me for a pen, and as soon as the band left the stage I start quickly scribbling my original sign on the back of a small piece of paper. It is completely dark and my brother is holding his cell phone up for me to see what I am writing. I could hardly see and I ended up writing sloppy, the pen kept running out of ink, and I gave myself a paper cut but when the band took the stage again I was holding up my makeshift request sign. I’m thinking can Jon even read this, is it even legible? So I'm holding the sign for the first three songs of the encore and Jon is not looking at it at all. Then he sees it, looks right at me and gives me this smile and this look like “Maybe, we'll see.” I am thinking there is now way they are doing it, it hadn't been played all tour up to this point. Well right after BTBMB Jon stops, squats down right in front of me and is squinting and slowly starts reading my sign out loud “Dear Jon I’ve been a good girl…..etc.” At this point I am up on the big screen and Jon smiles and asks “Have you been a really, really good girl this year?” I’m DYING at this point, but he teases us with one more song and then he points to me and says to Richie, “So the girl in the front row wants to hear Blood on Blood, what do you say?” They “pretend” to be thinking about it for a second and then they break into it and Jon says “All right for the girl in the front row. Blood on Blood, this is for you” It was unbelievable. I felt like Jon was singing that song for me and that I was the only one in the room. It was performed with so much feeling and passion and at the end of the song Jon winked at me, gave me the million dollar smile and said “Merry Christmas young lady!” Pretty hard to top that moment.
